The University of Mainz, known as Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, was established in 1477. It is located in Mainz, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany. The university is known as Johannes Gutenberg-Universitat Mainz in German. The university was originally known as University of Mainz, which later came to be known as Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, in 1946. The university is named after Johannes Gutenberg, who was a printer. Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz's recent enrollments have been more than 35,000 students.
