The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, also known as Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat Munchen in German, was established in 1472. It is located in Munich, Bavaria, in Germany. The university was originally founded as University of Ingolstadt in 1472. Later it was moved to Bavaria in 1826, and got its present name after Maximilian I, the King of Bavaria and Louis IX, the Duke of Bavaria. The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich's recent enrollments have been more than 44,000 students.
