The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, abbreviated as MLU, established in 1502, is located in Halle, Germany. The university is known as Martin-Luther-Universitat Halle-Wittenberg in German. The university was founded by Frederick the Wise, the Elector of Saxony. University of Halle was founded by Frederick III in 1694. MLU's recent enrollments have been more than 18,000 students.
