Queen's University, commonly known as Queen's, was established in 1841. It is located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. In 1858, the first student government of Canada was established at this university. Queen's University's recent enrollments have been more than 13,000 undergraduates and over 2,000 postgraduate students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:
- Faculty of Applied Science
- Faculty of Arts and Science
- Faculty of Education
- Faculty of Health Sciences
- Faculty of Law
- School of Business
- School of Graduate Studies
- Theological College
In 1926, the alumni association of Queen's University was founded. The alumni includes many notable personalities such as Jackson Armstrong, historian; David Card, economist; Alfred Fitzpatrick, founder of Frontier College; Rachel Blanchard, actress; Nancy Wilson, CBC journalist; and Geoffrey Ballard, founder of Ballard Power Systems; among others.
The sports teams of Queen's University are nicknamed the Golden Gaels. The teams participate in sports such as hockey, golf, basketball, chess, mountain biking, wrestling, and football. The university also has a number of recreation clubs such as the Badminton Club, Dance Club, Dance Pack, Break Dance Club, and Gymnastics Club.
