Université Laval

The Universite Laval, established in 1663, is located in Quebec City, Canada. The university started as Séminaire de Québec, which was founded by first bishop in 1663. The present was formed in 1852 after the Royal Charter was granted by Queen Victoria. The Universite Laval's recent enrollments have been more than 28,000 undergraduate and over 8,000 postgraduate students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:

The University sports teams are called the Rouge-et-Or. The teams are involved in sports such as volleyball, soccer, swimming, basketball, badminton, cross-country, rugby, golf and diving. The university alumni include renowned personalities like Jean H. Dussault, an endocrinologist; Pierre Morency, poet, writer and playwright; Catherine Morissette, lawyer and politician; Sam Hamad, politician; Wilfrid Derome, forensic scientist; and many others.
