The University of Basel, established in 1460, is located in Basel, Switzerland. This is the oldest university in Switzerland. The deed of foundation of the university was given by Pope Pius II in 1459. Originally the university included four faculties, namely arts, jurisprudence, medicine, and theology. The University of Basel's recent enrollments has been more than 10,000 students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:
