University Of Buenos Aires
The University of Buenos Aires, abbreviated as UBA, was established in 1821. It is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The university is known as Universidad de Buenos Aires in Spanish. The university was established due to the initiative by Bernardino Rivadavia. The Avellaneda Law was passed in 1885, to grant autonomy to Córdoba University and Buenos Aires University. The autonomy and democratization of the university was put at risk by the repressive actions and military coups in 1930’s. The university went through institutional reconstruction in the beginning of democracy. It finally got back the autonomy. UBA's recent enrollments have been more than 289,000 undergraduate and 13,000 postgraduate students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:

The University has a Choir and Orchestra, which started in 2003, has hosted several shows. The Coordination of the Museum Network was found in 2002. The university alumni includes eminent personalities like Julio Cortázar, a writer; Carlos Pellegrini, lawyer; Rafael Viñoly, an Uruguayan architect; Bernardo Houssay, won Nobel Prize in Physiology; Luis Agote, a physician; Eduardo Duhalde, lawyer; and many others.
