University Of Calgary
The University of Calgary, abbreviated as U of C, is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In 1945, it was established as the University of Alberta, Calgary branch, and received autonomy as a university in 1966. This led to the establishment of the present university. U of C's recent enrollments have been more than 21,000 undergraduate and 5,000 postgraduate students. The notable alumni of the university include personalities such as James Gosling, invented the Java programming language; Douglas R. Hamilton, biomedical engineer and NASA flight surgeon; and Harold (Hal) Kvisle, President and CEO of TransCanada Corporation; and many others.
