University Of Groningen
The University of Groningen, established in 1614, is located in Groningen, Netherlands. The formation of the university was a result of initiative taken by Regional Assembly of Groningen and the surrounding regions. At the time of establishment the university was a college of higher education. The university acquired recognition as national college of higher education in 1815. The Univesity of Groningen's recent enrollments have been more than 22,000 students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:

The alumni magazine published by the university is known as the Broerstraat 5. The scientific research carried out at the university is broadcast by Adams Appel, which is a television programme. SPR is the joint sports organization of University of Groningen and Hanzehogeschool Groningen. The scientific collections of the university are displayed by University Museum.
The university alumni include personalities such as Johan Huizinga, a historian; Jan Oort, an astronomer; Gerardus Heymans, psychologist and philosopher; Wietse Venema, physicist and programmer; and many others.
