The University of Hamburg, established in 1919, is located in Hamburg, Germany. The university is known as Universitat Hamburg in German. The origin of the university goes back to the 17th century. There were 1729 students in 1919. The University of Hamburg's recent enrollments have been more than 38,000 students. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study through the following academic divisions:

  • Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Education, Psychology, and Human Movement
  • Faculty of Humanities
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Natural Sciences
  • Faculty of Medicine

The main campus is located at Rotherbaum. The other campuses are located at Eppendorf, Flottbek, Altona, Bergedorf, and Bahrenfeld.

The University of Hamburg Magazine is known as 'yousee'. The General Student Committee of the university is called AStA. The students are associated with organizations such as the Bulgarian-German-Student Association, Chinese academics Hamburg.e Association, German-Chinese Cultural Association, ai Latin America Group Hamburg and Albanian Student Association. The university also has a Student Parliament, Community of interests of disabled and chronically ill students. The university has the Queer Department which works for equality of individuals.
