The University of Wurzburg, established in 1402, is located in Wurzburg, Bavaria, Germany. Though the university was founded in 1402, but it closed down due to the lack of funds. The university was re-established in 1582 by Prince Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn. The university allowed non-Catholics after the newly formulated student's charter of 1734. The University of Wurzburg's recent enrollments have been around 19,000 undergraduate and 3,000 postgraduate students.
