About Academy of Hair Design
Established in 1976, the Academy of Hair Design trains students for careers in the fields of Cosmetology, Skin Aesthetics, Nail Aesthetics and Cosmetology Education at facilities located in Hazelton Pennsylvania. Students are prepared to meet licensing standards for practicing professionals in Pennsylvania. Students are taught the necessary skills to manage a salon as well as the professional and ethical standards of the industry.
Academy of Hair Design Academic Programs
- Cosmetology Program - Students are trained to work as hair stylists, permanent wave technicians, hair colorists, nail technicians, makeup artists and beauty industry representatives. Hands-on learning is provided as well as teaching in salon management. The program takes 1500 hours to complete.
- Aesthetician, Esthetician and Skin Care Specialists - Provides training in skin care, applying makeup and skin cleansing procedures. Students are trained to acquire a license in their chosen field.
- Cosmetology, Barber, Styling and Nail Instructor - A comprehensive program that prepares professionals for the State of Pennsylvania Instructor Exam and License. The program length is 750 hours.
- Manicurist/Nail Specialist Program - Program prepares students to become licensed manicurists. Provides skills in shaping nails, removing unwanted skin and blemishes and other skills. The program takes 600 hours to complete.
