About American Career College

American Career College was established in 1978 as the American College of Optics. The school was renamed American Career College in 1993 due to an expanding curriculum and a larger student population. The vocational training school has campuses in southern California. Programs are provided in various healthcare fields such as massage, surgical technician, vocational nursing, dentistry and pharmacy. The programs are based on employer requirements. The school's goal is to provide graduates the skills required to find entry-level employment in healthcare fields.

American Career College Academic Programs

  • Dental Assisting - Students are taught the skills required for entry-level employment as a dental assistant. Graduates have opportunities for employment in oral surgery, pediatric and orthodontic facilities.
  • Health Claims Examiner/Medical Biller - Practical applications, theory and computer skills are emphasized.
  • Massage Therapy - The program focuses on hands-on training.
  • Medical Assistants - The curriculum's objective is to provide students the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in medical offices, HMO's, clinics and other healthcare settings.
  • Optical Dispensing Specialists - Students are prepared for the National Opticianry Exam and Contact Lens Registry Exam. Graduates have opportunities for employment as optical dispensing specialists, ophthalmic lab technicians and contact lens technicians.
  • Pharmacy Technician - Offers the knowledge and skills required for entry-level technician jobs in hospital, retail and home health pharmacies.
  • Respiratory Therapist - Teaches theoretical and clinical skills. Hands-on training in a clinical environment is part of the curriculum.
  • Vocational Nursing - The academic and clinical training prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination for a licensure as a practical / vocational nurse.
