American Institute of Health Careers provides allied health training. The school offers programs in medical assisting, dental assistant, diagnostic general sonography, diagnostic cardiac sonography and medical office administration.

Academic Programs

  • Diagnostic General Sonography program - Students are provided training in abdominal, gynecological, obstetric and other applications. The students are trained to provide studies to doctors which enable them to diagnose health issues and provide the appropriate treatments. The students are also trained to use equipment to determine the sex of a fetus. The program includes an externship.
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program - Students are prepared to become a cardiac sonographer, also known as an echocardiographer. The program includes comprehensive training in the application of cardiac ultrasound, focusing on the heart with exposure to vascular ultrasound. The program includes an externship.
  • Dental Assistant program - Provides training in chairside assisting, dental x-rays, preparing materials of impressions and restorations, specialized dentistry, infection control, administrative tasks, laboratory duties and other subjects. The program can be completed in eight months. The program includes an externship.
  • Medical Assistant program - Provides the knowledge and skills needed to become a certified medical assistant or clinical administrator. The program provides training in medical office management, clinical procedures, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Students also learn to perform various procedures on numerous types of diagnostic equipment. The program includes a clinical externship.
  • Medical Office Administration program - Covers business aspects of healthcare and clinical tasks. Training in computer applications is also included. Students are prepared for entry-level jobs in clinics, physician offices, ambulatory care centers, medical records facilities and other settings. The program can be completed in 10 months.
