About the School
Angley college was founded in 1999 to meet the growing demand for fast, career-oriented training. Located in Deland, Florida, Angley College is an independent, private college specializing in the areas of aviation, business, and allied health. The College offers student the choice of short-term programs awarding diplomas, or associate's and bachelor's degree programs.
Academic Programs
Angley College offers the following programs in the areas of aviation, business and allied health:
- A. S. in Business Office Administration – Program offered with three concentration choices: management, aviation management, or accounting. The goal of this program is to prepare students for professional careers in business, government, and non-profit organizations.
- B.S. in Business Administration – Program teaches the competencies required for management careers in business, government, public, or social service organizations. A course concentration in Aviation Management is available.
- B.S. in Healthcare Management – Professionally oriented program that teaches the skills required for management careers in health-related business, government, public, or social service organizations. The program covers topics ranging from medical organizations and management fundamentals, to areas of anatomy and medical terminology, to accounting and finance.
- A.S. in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding – Program prepares graduates for entry-level administrative office support positions in a medical facility, and teaches those business and medical skill necessary to function in a facility with a medical focus.
- Aviation Technology Diploma – Program can be completed in as little as nine months, and combines college-level coursework with flight training that provides students the opportunity to enter the aviation industry as a professional pilot.
- Therapeutic Massage – Program to learn skills to become a massage therapist, and treat painful ailments, decompressing tired and overworked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting general health.
- Medical Clinic Lab Assistant – Program is designed to prepare graduates for positions as entry-level medical assistants in a medical office or clinic, with training in both clinical and administrative duties.
- Phlebotomy Technician – Program is designed to prepare students for employment as phlebotomists including learning skills such as the safe collection and disposal of samples, as well as communication skills and knowledge of legal and ethical responsibilities.
- Nursing Assistant – Program provides skills to prepare graduates for entry-level positions as nursing assistants in nursing homes and to prepare graduates for the State of Florida nursing assistant certification examination.
- Basic X-ray Machine Operator – Program provides students with skills and training necessary to begin working as an X-ray machine operator and teaches skills such as basic anatomy, use of medical X-ray equipment, and general patient care.
- Dental Assisting – Program teaches skills to become a dental assistant and perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties.
Learning Options
Angley College offers a modular approach to classes, with one course per month scheduled for most programs. Day, evening, and on-line classes are also available. Most of the programs also include cooperative work or externship experiences to give students the opportunity to get the work experience they need prior to starting a career.
Faculty
Faculty at Angley College are professionals and are highly-qualified in their respective fields. A partnership with The Pacific Institute assists the students, faculty, and staff to expand their personal understanding of how to think effectively, with the expectation that this will help them succeed. Small class sizes give instructors the ability to help each student as much as possible.
Student Life
Students at Angley College benefit from the school's philosophy that the student comes first and have developed several innovative programs to help students succeed in college. The College has on-campus childcare to watch children while their parents are in class or in the laboratory, at no additional cost.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Students may apply to Angley College at any time, and should contact the school to set-up a pre-admission interview with an Admissions Officer. Applications may be submitted on-line. All applicants must be high school graduates with a diploma, or its equivalent. Post-admission testing may also be performed to help determine a student's ability at the college level. Preparatory courses may also need to be completed prior to beginning any programs.
Angley College offers financial assistance for students who qualify. Federal and state grants, as well as federal and private loans are also available for students who need help in meeting educational expenses. The College also offers customized tuition payment plans.
