"Seemed like a pretty good school. Overall, though, it was too expensive."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf they had money, sure. They'd get a good education.
School Reputation7Seemed to be a reputable school. I've met employers with employees who graduated from here.
Satisfaction With Major5The school was pretty good compared to other online classes I've taken. The classes were informative.
Instruction5I learned a lot here. The classes weren't too easy.
Cost3Not much financial aid. I ended up going somewhere else cheaper.
Schedule Flexibility6I got to do things at my own pace. I didn't have to meet at a certain time or adjust my work schedule around classes.
Academic Facilities5Since it was online, there weren't many resources. Online tutors were available.
Social Life4I took online classes, so I didn't get to participate much in extracurriculars. I probably could've found some if I'd tried harder.
Placement Services6They provide solid advice on finding a career and good ideas on where to apply for jobs.
Alumni Network5I've been given names of alumni. I have looked these people up on Facebook to meet them.

Studying Information Management (completion in: 2012)

"I love the classes and the flexibility of the course work. I wish they had a bachelors program for Information Management. I will have to finish my degree at another college since they do not offer it."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThe classes are reasonably priced, and the courses come automatically. I love the flexibility of the online program. If I didn't have the payment plan I would not have had this opportunity.
School Reputation5Since I am out of state this question is hard for me to answer. I will say that I was required to have a school that has accreditation, and this one does.
Satisfaction With Major8I really like the program that I am taking. I am taking the courses without any problems. All the study materials are provided to me and I test online. I like the website and the support provided to me by the school. I also love the payment plan and it helps me achieve my goals.
Instruction9I have learned so much about networking and computer repair. My job requires certifications and when I completed the courses I was able to pass the exams.
Cost10Compared to the school my daughter is attending, the cost is extremely fair. I would not be able to afford classes unless they were reasonably priced.
Schedule Flexibility10Since I take online courses I can do my work 24 hours a day and I always have access to the site. I enjoy the classes and the curriculum.
Academic Facilities9The school has given me online access to their library. I have never needed anything I could not find.
Social LifeI am out of state so I do not attend any athletic events or activities.
Placement ServicesI really cant answer this question because I have never used the service. I don't remember seeing anything like that on the website.

Studying High School Diploma Program (completion in: 2011)

"They work very well with students whenever they have problems especially with billing. The programs that they offer are wide in variety."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThe school is great for anyone that has a busy schedule. It's also great for someone who just wants a different type of schooling experience.
School Reputation10Everyone I know who has used Ashworth has nothing but good things to sat about it. I only know a few people, but it's always recommended by them.
Satisfaction With Major10The program was a great structured curriculum for not only teens but adults as well. I am a young adult who before could not earn a diploma until I went through this school.
Instruction10When I needed help it was always there. The instructors where always available through email and gave quick responses when contacted.
Cost5While it is a pretty good value it's frustrating that they do not offer any type of financial aid. Financial aid will help a lot of people who don't have much of an income.
Schedule Flexibility10All the classes are online, or sometimes you are sent books. It is extremely flexible and great for working at your own pace.
Academic Facilities10The amount of study groups and tutors available is great. Students can form study groups online or you can contact a tutor for one-on-one help.
Social Life10They provide a great community that helps you connect with other students. It's a great way to make new friends.
Placement ServicesI have never utilized this. From what I have heard they do a pretty good job of helping students.
Alumni Network10They have an amazing community called Ashworth Community. Both current and past students can contribute and talk about courses and jobs, etc.

"I love what I learned and how I learned it. It was a great experience."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend it to anyone, and I hope others would like it too.
Satisfaction With Major6It was a very lovely online college and I enjoyed it very much. I can't wait to earn another degree.
Instruction9I was able to understand to material easily. I really enjoyed the way in which I was taught.
Cost6I was able to afford it easily. I loved the prices.
Schedule Flexibility6They were great with my schedule. It was easy to get my classes done on time.
Academic FacilitiesI really didn't see any physical facilities since it was an online school.
Social Life6I didn't meet many new people. That was OK, because I liked the solitude.
Placement Services7I found a job really quickly, and it is a great job.
Alumni NetworkI don't really speak to anyone else who went to school there, although it would be nice to meet them.

Ashworth College • I Took 3 Online Career Courses Through PCDI (Now Ashworth).
Studying I Took Children's Writing, Private Investigator Course, And Tax Preparation. (completion in: 2007)

12/11/2011

"I enjoyed every program I took through PCDI and got a lot out of each. Because the work was self-paced, it was fun and convenient."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would tell anyone interested in my fields that PCDI is a good place to start. I would also qualify that by explaining that online school has certain limitations, and further training would be required after completing PCDI.
School Reputation7Most employers liked hearing that I had some PCDI training. However, there was usually some additional credential that was necessary in order to actually be considered trained.
Satisfaction With Major8I enjoyed each of the 3 courses I took and got a lot out of them. The course materials were useful. These were career development programs (not degree programs) so they were "Stand-alone" experiences.
Instruction7The courses I took were entirely self-paced and involved the use of online materials. There was almost no instructor contact, unless it was initiated by the student. This made the experience less helpful than actual instruction.
Cost5I had my schooling paid for by my employer, so I didn't worry about the cost. Had I been paying for it myself, I would have worried more about the value of the certificates. Each program was a good introduction to some experience, but no program provided an immediately useful credential.
Schedule Flexibility10All of my work was online and self-paced. For the writing course, some work had to be hand-graded by an instructor. Some of the instructors took a long time to provide feedback.
Academic Facilities7All of my resources were available online or were sent to my home. These were adequate, but were not comparable to what an actual "brick-and-mortar" school would offer.
Social Life5My experience was online. The school did attempt to provide some social networking through facebook and such, but I didn't care for that. I did use the ID card for student discounts though.
Placement Services5I was in career development courses, not degree courses. It was sort of understood that graduates would be working on their own to make use of the knowledge/certificate gained.
Alumni Network7Because it is mainly an online school, there is no personal contact. There is also no opportunity for personal networking.

"It's a good school for the price. I could learn more elsewhere, though."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIf you can't afford college, it's a good second option.
School Reputation5Most people don't know about this school. Everyone asks me what it is.
Satisfaction With Major9They have taught me many valuable skills. I am learning much about the business world.
Instruction5The online classes are hit or miss. Sometimes it's just reading.
Cost5It's less expensive than other schools. I would pay much more at a better university.
Schedule Flexibility8Online classes are very flexible. They provide many classes in an online format.
Academic Facilities8The online resources are fantastic. I don't use the actual facilities.
Social Life1I take online classes, so I don't interact much. I haven't met any other students.
Placement ServicesI haven't used them yet. I get e-mails, though.
Alumni NetworkI have heard nothing about it. It's not like bigger schools.

12/8/2011

"I was satisfied with the schooling provided by Ashworth. The people who assisted me were courteous and helpful."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend Ashworth. I have had nothing but great experiences with this online school. I did not finish, but I could have if I would had stuck with it.
School Reputation5I do not think that a lot of people have heard of Ashworth. I had not heard of it until I did online research.
Satisfaction With Major7I was fairly satisfied with the early childhood education program. I had a lot gong on in my life at the time and quit.
Instruction9I had an excellent instructor. The instructor that I had always emailed me back and helped with my studies.
Cost8This college is priced very fairly. I was able to afford the classes easily while working part time.
Schedule Flexibility8I had quite a bit of homework, but I pretty much finished it on my own time. It was convenient to be able to complete the classes as I had time.
Academic Facilities8The advisors were excellent. The setup on my computer made it simple to do my homework and figure out what I needed to do next.
Social Life3I Studied online. I did not have social experiences at school.
Placement ServicesI did not finish the program. I am not sure about job placement.
Alumni NetworkI did not have a lot of experience with the alumni network. I can say the teacher was very polite and helpful.

"I was able to get what I needed and that is what is most important. They had great educators."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf you just want to focus on the actual class work, then this school is for you. If you want to mix socializing into your schooling, then perhaps you should look at other options.
School Reputation5Not many people know about this school. The people who do know about it love it.
Satisfaction With Major7The school provides a high quality education at an affordable price. I was impressed at how far the staff is willing to go to cater to your needs as an individual.
Instruction8The instructors were very easy to communicate with. The extent to which they wished to helped showed how much they cared.
Cost5I was provided with a degree at a low cost. However, there should be more school sponsored scholarships.
Schedule Flexibility8The school had very flexible hours for classes. I was able to schedule all my classes around my full time job.
Academic Facilities8My school has an excellent online library. Specific tools and applications we needed were hard to obtain, though.
Social Life5As it was mostly an online affair for me, I did not participate in school spirit activities. I was able to purchase an Ashworth shirt, though.
Placement Services8Ashworth worked with me to build my resume. I was able to find a job within three months of graduating.
Alumni Network4I didn't really meet a lot of people since it was online schooling. The discussion boards did help but not many people used them.

12/13/2011

"Never had a problem that did not get answered quickly and courteously. Loved the freedom the schooling provided."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would and I have recommended Ashworth to others. I believe in the value of the school and have let others know about it.
School Reputation5Online schooling still has a stigma among many employers. This is not just Ashworth but all online degree programs. I hope this will improve over time.
Satisfaction With Major8I believe the curriculum was well planned and the courses were easy to follow. I never had a problem getting assistance when I needed it.
Instruction8The courses were set up in a professional manner. The instructors are well qualified to instruct.
Cost10I believe the schooling through Ashworth is of great value. The freedom of the online courses is very valuable to adults seeking to further their education.
Schedule Flexibility10I was very pleased with the time frame within which we could finish course work. Also, the flexibility of online course study cannot be beaten.
Academic Facilities5Online courses tend to limit your access to school facilities. I believe Ashworth was doing a great job at developing these services for their online students.
Social Life5Another drawback to online schooling is the inability to participate in school spirit activities. This would be an area the school could use some improvement on.
Placement Services7The career services were well organized with lots of valuable information. I never used the job placement program.
Alumni Network7I never completed the program so never used the alumni support. What I did see of the support was very well organized.

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIt is simple to enroll and acceptance is guaranteed. All the materials are also provided for the completion of this program. The school is very affordable and allows the students to make their own payment plans.
School Reputation6The overall reputation is good, although I believe some employers are not fully aware of Ashworth College.
Satisfaction With Major8I feel that they provide enough help to finish and be successful. They provide all the materials needed to complete the courses.
Instruction8They provide all the materials and information that are needed to complete this course. They make sure that there is always someone to help you when you need it.
Cost7It is a great value. They provide a great payment program that makes it affordable.
Schedule Flexibility9I use the online program. It is extremely flexible as I am able to work on my own time. This program is "at your own pace" so you can complete the assignments when you have the time.
Academic FacilitiesI only take the online program. I am not sure what the campus is like.
Social Life7I am not sure about the athletics of the school, but the school is all about school spirit. When you sign up for a program they give you a sticker for the bumper of your car.
Placement ServicesI am not finished with the program, so I do not know how the actual job placement is.
Alumni Network9They provide an online chat network through which alumni and current students can talk. It is a good system, yet I don't think many actually use it. I have yet to use it.

"This school will get me a degree quickly and without too much cost. I get out what I put into it. It's the best school available to a soldier."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI have recommended 3 other soldiers to Ashworth College. One is currently taking classes.
School Reputation5Some employers do not recognize nationally accredited schools, which is a downfall. Currently, I am in the US Army, which does.
Satisfaction With Major5I liked the school for its convenience. It doesn't provide much of a challenging academic setting, though.
Instruction3I don't think I was ever instructed. I was provided with feedback on an essay, which was helpful.
Cost10This is the only course fully covered by the military. It fits my budget perfectly, as well as my schedule.
Schedule Flexibility10This is the most flexible college ever. I finished 1 semester of a class in 2 days. My entire 1st semester took 2 months.
Academic Facilities5Books are available at low prices. Course material is fantastic.
Social Life8It's not a traditional university, so there are no events or athletics, but the students in the forums are very friendly and helpful.
Placement Services10I have not yet completed my degree, however, as a soldier, I already know it will get me into OCS.
Alumni Network10Ashworth's online network is actually pretty outstanding. I've taken online classes through other colleges which were made it very difficult to network in any way outside of the class room.

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend this school to anyone pursuing my career. It provides students with the skills they need and the facilities and teachers are top-notch.

Academic Facilities10Teachers were extremely easy to contact as all information needed to contact them could be found online. All the facilities were excellent and provided an adequate atmosphere for learning when it came to physical meetings.
Social Life5There were a lot of school activities. I consider the social experiences to be average.

Social LifeThis is difficult to answer since I'm taking my courses online.

Would Recommend?yesI have recommended the school to several people so far. My husband has even decided to enroll.
School Reputation8I've heard nothing but good things from the people I've talked to about this. The only set back is that not a whole lot of people have heard of this school.
Satisfaction With Major10The staff is extremely nice and very helpful. The courses come one at a time to give you the ability to focus on one subject. The books are very easy to understand.
Instruction8The instructors are very knowledgeable. They have helped me every time I have needed to contact them.

"I'm very satisfied. I've got my career diploma and I'm finally starting to do things!"

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeDepends what career they are looking for. If it is something you need more hands on contact to break into, I would not suggest the online route. The teachers are great though.
School Reputation8The school obviously has a reputation for making good employees. It still doesn't have the staples of a typical 4 year school, though.
Satisfaction With Major7It was better than average. I feel like I learned the necessary things to help me in my career.
Instruction7Most of the teachers were very knowledgeable. At the end of it I felt like I had learned something from some one who actually does it for a living, instead of some one who teaches it. They were some times when I did not get enough individual attention to keep up pace though.
Cost8Very good value. I went to a four year college for a semester and this seemed to be far more worth the money.
Schedule Flexibility10I went to school online, usually for a couple hours for two or three days a week.
Academic Facilities8They gave me access to many online resources as well as ones in my community.
Social Life2I went online. There was still some camaraderie at least with my teachers, I feel.
Placement Services5
Alumni Network5I get phone calls about once a month and they have given me some resources. That's pretty much as far as it goes.

Studying Early Childhood Education (completion in: 2006)

2/1/2012

"I was relatively satisfied with Ashworth. The school taught me a lot of important things that I use everyday."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend Ashworth to students only if they were planning to use the school to obtain an associate's degree. Students should go to a traditional four year college in which they receive in classroom training for anything more than a two-year degree.
School Reputation5The reputation of Ashworth is lukewarm. Being an almost entirely online college means that the school is basically only respected for smaller, niche degrees.
Satisfaction With Major6I was relativity satisfied with my online program. As far as online programs go, the program seemed to be fairly in depth. I learned a lot and use that knowledge everyday in my job
Instruction6The quality of instruction was good. The online program utilized several interesting and engaging lesson plans. The instructors themselves were smart, passionate, and truly cared about my education.
Cost5You get what you pay for in terms of value. Basically you pay for the degree in this program. You choose how well you want to utilize other media, such as online library resources.
Schedule Flexibility10The flexibility of the online program is definitely very good. Being enrolled in online school meant submitting assignments at any time in a one to two week period.
Academic Facilities6The program provided adequate, but not impressive, resources. Taking an online class meant that resources were limited to online media.
Social Life2School spirit was hardly ever talked about in this program. Taking classes online provides no social interaction.
Placement Services3The job placement assistance from this program was limited to say the least. The program offered assistance in terms of job placement only in providing the names of schools that were hiring.
Alumni Network3The network from this program was rather poor. Being an online program meant that there were few opportunities to network .

Studying I Pursued An Associate Of Science Degree In Psychology. (completion in: 2011)

2/9/2012

"The school met my needs at this present time. I did not want to deal with financial aid, travel, or set schedules. Had I wanted a more structured program, I would have probably looked elsewhere."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf one is looking for a degree that provides flexible scheduling, then I would recommend the school. However, it would not be my first choice, even though the price may be right. The school offered reasonably sound curricula with a fairly strong support system.
School Reputation4As my degree was more for personal fulfillment, I was not too concerned with how the school is looked at. The school is fully accredited through the DETC. Some employers may look down upon this, that is, if regional accreditation is the golden standard on which to judge the utility of a degree.
Satisfaction With Major7While the materials were well written, many of the texts were slightly out of date. The idea of breaking up an introductory psychology course into two 3 credit classes seemed a bit strange to me. Overall, I feel I learned a good amount of basic psychology, and it should prove beneficial as I continue my educational degree program.
Instruction4Again, materials were slightly out of date. There was little instruction other than simply reading the text and the study guide. While there were no instances where I felt "stuck," I would have much preferred some form of lecture or recitation to continue to reinforce the materials covered.
Cost8Overall, I think that it was financially sound to go to Ashworth. They were easy to work with on payments, and it did allow me to complete my degree with no debt to speak of. Many college graduates are unable to say that.
Schedule Flexibility10You are free to work at your own pace with online exams for instant grading. Although it does take some time to set up the semester testing, it is far from difficult to progress through the program at a pace that works for you.
Academic Facilities3Again, the online nature of the program makes these services nearly impossible to maintain or use. While there was an online library, I do not think I ever used the services outside of class requirements. It was much easier to find my own materials at a physical, or more widely stocked, online library.
Social Life4There really are no extra curricular activities, as the school operates no physical location. There were a few instances where students could participate in discussion boards.
Placement Services3Because of the asynchronous online nature of the program, there was little interaction with the job placement office. This was not a group of people who knew me, other than by a student number. I couldn't really see it being useful overall, but as a check-mark on a list, they can claim to have a job placement department.
Alumni Network5I have done little in the alumni support area having just graduated. However, they do have services in place. I am not sure that I will avail myself of them, but they are there.

"It was cheap and easy to accomplish tasks and homework and get good grades."

Would Recommend?yesI would recommend this school to others who have small budgets and are still trying to get good degrees. Possibly for adults who want to go back and further their degrees because they can easily do the work from home.
School Reputation6I wouldn't say we stand out, but we are perfectly educated in our degree programs.
Satisfaction With Major5It taught me everything I needed to know, but it was harder for me to retain the information because I was learning it online.
Instruction6Like I said previously, the instruction wasn't the best because it was an online program.
Cost9It was much cheaper for me because I didn't have to move onto campus. Also, because I was enrolled online, it was significantly cheaper.
Schedule Flexibility8It was flexible because it was online. So it wasn't like I had to be at class everyday, but I did have to turn in assignments by a due date which did cut into my personal time sometimes.
Academic Facilities4I was only enrolled online so I wasn't able to use all of the school's resources.
Social Life3Wasn't involved with the school spirit much since I was never there.
Placement ServicesI'm unsure about this because I never finished my program at this college.
Alumni Network3They don't have much of an Alumni program, at least not one that I'm familiar with.

"I paid too much for too little education and a certificate that I could not use. I would never consider this institution again, and I would never recommend it to anyone."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?noThe cost of tuition and books is far greater than the education you get from them. The professors have better things to do than to answer your questions. Despite what they say on the website, not everyone recognizes their degrees.
School Reputation1None of the businesses in my area accepted my certification from this institution. Many have not even heard of it.
Satisfaction With Major1When I got my books for this class, they consisted of loose leaf paper bound by a black plastic spiral binder. When I looked to the internet for some extra help, all the information that was in my "book" was on an internet page.
Instruction1There was absolutely no instruction given. Most online colleges have a teacher that will answer questions that you may have. I waited 3 days for a professor to get back to me.
Cost1I was greatly disappointed with the cost of this program. It was $580 for something I could have learned online. I couldn't even use the certification I got from this institution.
Schedule Flexibility10Because I opted for the online classes, my schedule was very flexible. It allowed me to go to work and school on my own time, whether I had 5 minutes or an hour.
Academic Facilities5I took my classes online, so libraries and such were found on my own. I would assume that there are facilities similar to other colleges.
Social Life7Again, I opted for online classes so I got to throw my own parties. I often went to other close colleges for parties and sports events.
Placement Services1The area that I currently live in does not accept certifications from this institution. This is something that I learned after I applied, thinking that this was an accredited school I believed that businesses around my area would accept it.
Alumni NetworkI don't remember there being a student forum. It has been about a year and I have since switched schools.

"It was cheap, easy to sign up for, and worked with my schedule. I learned a lot."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI've already recommended it to my friends looking to go to school. It gives anyone a chance to pursue their dreams.
School ReputationI really don't know what their reputation is. I'm hoping it doesn't hinder my chances of getting a career in my field.
Satisfaction With Major10I liked the ease of being able to take the classes from home. I was able to turn in my homework at my convenience.
Instruction10The books went into a lot of detail about medicines and what they're used for. I learned a lot about the job of a Pharmacy Technician. There was a lot that I wouldn't have thought was part of the responsibilities of people in the field.
Cost10The price was very reasonable for my program. I didn't have to waste gas by going to and from a building, and I was able to make small payments over time.
Schedule Flexibility10Since I took the course online, I was able to read the books and do the homework at my speed. I was given plenty of time to complete the course, and I actually completed it early.
Academic Facilities9They had other students I could talk to about homework. They had an online library where I could research my questions.
Social Life9They had more activities than I expected that I could participate in. You can tell the staff and students really liked the school.
Placement Services6They do have resources on their website that help you find places that are hiring. However, I couldn't find information on whether I needed to pass a test or needed to be licensed in my field to actually get a job.
Alumni Network10Their website has lots of information for their alumni. If you have any questions, they are very easy to get a hold of to receive answers.

"Very satisfied. The price for the material and the flexibility make it just that much better."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?yesLike I've said, you can't beat the price and the amount of material one can learn is just amazing.
School Reputation9I would recommend it to anyone who's willing to further their career for a decent price.
Satisfaction With Major9I'd have to say I'm satisfied with the program this school provides.
Instruction9The amount of material I've been given is quite a lot for the price I'm paying. I'm only on lesson three, but I've learned a lot.
Cost9The cost was fair for the program, not to mention the fact that there was a deal when I signed up.
Schedule Flexibility10Taking the online course really makes my life easier. I'm able to study and do schoolwork any time I want.
Academic Facilities9they offer a library online with plenty of books for me to read. The text books include lots of websites for me to look at.
Social LifeI cant really answer this since I study from home.
Placement ServicesOnce again, I don't really know because I haven't really checked it out.
Alumni NetworkNot really sure. I'm still new and haven't really played around on the website.

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noBecause of the experience that I have had with this school, I do not want to end up embarrassed by sending others here.
School Reputation3They have good books, but you don't get the support you need.
Satisfaction With Major4I have not had any communication with a person from this college yet.
Instruction3The books are pretty informative.
Cost5Seven hundred and something dollars for a tax preparation course is fair.
Schedule Flexibility10The program is online so I can study whenever I have time.
Academic Facilities2I have not received my first shipment yet so I can not take my exams. I have called them, but they have not called back.
Social Life3People from the online community are very helpful.
Placement Services1They do not call you when you need them to. They only call to remind you that you have to pay them.
Alumni Network8Alumni are always online, and they try to help as much as they can.
