"Seemed like a pretty good school. Overall, though, it was too expensive."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf they had money, sure. They'd get a good education.
Satisfaction With Major5The school was pretty good compared to other online classes I've taken. The classes were informative.
Instruction5I learned a lot here. The classes weren't too easy.
Cost3Not much financial aid. I ended up going somewhere else cheaper.
Schedule Flexibility6I got to do things at my own pace. I didn't have to meet at a certain time or adjust my work schedule around classes.
Academic Facilities5Since it was online, there weren't many resources. Online tutors were available.
Social Life4I took online classes, so I didn't get to participate much in extracurriculars. I probably could've found some if I'd tried harder.
Placement Services6They provide solid advice on finding a career and good ideas on where to apply for jobs.
Alumni Network5I've been given names of alumni. I have looked these people up on Facebook to meet them.

Studying Information Management (completion in: 2012)

11/21/2011

"I love the classes and the flexibility of the course work. I wish they had a bachelors program for Information Management. I will have to finish my degree at another college since they do not offer it."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThe classes are reasonably priced, and the courses come automatically. I love the flexibility of the online program. If I didn't have the payment plan I would not have had this opportunity.
Satisfaction With Major8I really like the program that I am taking. I am taking the courses without any problems. All the study materials are provided to me and I test online. I like the website and the support provided to me by the school. I also love the payment plan and it helps me achieve my goals.
Instruction9I have learned so much about networking and computer repair. My job requires certifications and when I completed the courses I was able to pass the exams.
Cost10Compared to the school my daughter is attending, the cost is extremely fair. I would not be able to afford classes unless they were reasonably priced.
Schedule Flexibility10Since I take online courses I can do my work 24 hours a day and I always have access to the site. I enjoy the classes and the curriculum.
Academic Facilities9The school has given me online access to their library. I have never needed anything I could not find.
Social LifeI am out of state so I do not attend any athletic events or activities.
Placement ServicesI really cant answer this question because I have never used the service. I don't remember seeing anything like that on the website.

Studying High School Diploma Program (completion in: 2011)

11/22/2011

"They work very well with students whenever they have problems especially with billing. The programs that they offer are wide in variety."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThe school is great for anyone that has a busy schedule. It's also great for someone who just wants a different type of schooling experience.
Satisfaction With Major10The program was a great structured curriculum for not only teens but adults as well. I am a young adult who before could not earn a diploma until I went through this school.
Instruction10When I needed help it was always there. The instructors where always available through email and gave quick responses when contacted.
Cost5While it is a pretty good value it's frustrating that they do not offer any type of financial aid. Financial aid will help a lot of people who don't have much of an income.
Schedule Flexibility10All the classes are online, or sometimes you are sent books. It is extremely flexible and great for working at your own pace.
Academic Facilities10The amount of study groups and tutors available is great. Students can form study groups online or you can contact a tutor for one-on-one help.
Social Life10They provide a great community that helps you connect with other students. It's a great way to make new friends.
Placement ServicesI have never utilized this. From what I have heard they do a pretty good job of helping students.
Alumni Network10They have an amazing community called Ashworth Community. Both current and past students can contribute and talk about courses and jobs, etc.

"I love what I learned and how I learned it. It was a great experience."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?yesI would recommend it to anyone, and I hope others would like it too.
Satisfaction With Major6It was a very lovely online college and I enjoyed it very much. I can't wait to earn another degree.
Instruction9I was able to understand to material easily. I really enjoyed the way in which I was taught.
Cost6I was able to afford it easily. I loved the prices.
Schedule Flexibility6They were great with my schedule. It was easy to get my classes done on time.
Academic FacilitiesI really didn't see any physical facilities since it was an online school.
Social Life6I didn't meet many new people. That was OK, because I liked the solitude.
Placement Services7I found a job really quickly, and it is a great job.
Alumni NetworkI don't really speak to anyone else who went to school there, although it would be nice to meet them.

Ashworth College • I Took 3 Online Career Courses Through PCDI (Now Ashworth).
Studying I Took Children's Writing, Private Investigator Course, And Tax Preparation. (completion in: 2007)

12/11/2011

"I enjoyed every program I took through PCDI and got a lot out of each. Because the work was self-paced, it was fun and convenient."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would tell anyone interested in my fields that PCDI is a good place to start. I would also qualify that by explaining that online school has certain limitations, and further training would be required after completing PCDI.
Satisfaction With Major8I enjoyed each of the 3 courses I took and got a lot out of them. The course materials were useful. These were career development programs (not degree programs) so they were "Stand-alone" experiences.
Instruction7The courses I took were entirely self-paced and involved the use of online materials. There was almost no instructor contact, unless it was initiated by the student. This made the experience less helpful than actual instruction.
Cost5I had my schooling paid for by my employer, so I didn't worry about the cost. Had I been paying for it myself, I would have worried more about the value of the certificates. Each program was a good introduction to some experience, but no program provided an immediately useful credential.
Schedule Flexibility10All of my work was online and self-paced. For the writing course, some work had to be hand-graded by an instructor. Some of the instructors took a long time to provide feedback.
Academic Facilities7All of my resources were available online or were sent to my home. These were adequate, but were not comparable to what an actual "brick-and-mortar" school would offer.
Social Life5My experience was online. The school did attempt to provide some social networking through facebook and such, but I didn't care for that. I did use the ID card for student discounts though.
Placement Services5I was in career development courses, not degree courses. It was sort of understood that graduates would be working on their own to make use of the knowledge/certificate gained.
Alumni Network7Because it is mainly an online school, there is no personal contact. There is also no opportunity for personal networking.

"It's a good school for the price. I could learn more elsewhere, though."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIf you can't afford college, it's a good second option.
Satisfaction With Major9They have taught me many valuable skills. I am learning much about the business world.
Instruction5The online classes are hit or miss. Sometimes it's just reading.
Cost5It's less expensive than other schools. I would pay much more at a better university.
Schedule Flexibility8Online classes are very flexible. They provide many classes in an online format.
Academic Facilities8The online resources are fantastic. I don't use the actual facilities.
Social Life1I take online classes, so I don't interact much. I haven't met any other students.
Placement ServicesI haven't used them yet. I get e-mails, though.
Alumni NetworkI have heard nothing about it. It's not like bigger schools.

Ashworth College • Online
Studying Early Childhood Education (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

"I was satisfied with the schooling provided by Ashworth. The people who assisted me were courteous and helpful."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend Ashworth. I have had nothing but great experiences with this online school. I did not finish, but I could have if I would had stuck with it.
Satisfaction With Major7I was fairly satisfied with the early childhood education program. I had a lot gong on in my life at the time and quit.
Instruction9I had an excellent instructor. The instructor that I had always emailed me back and helped with my studies.
Cost8This college is priced very fairly. I was able to afford the classes easily while working part time.
Schedule Flexibility8I had quite a bit of homework, but I pretty much finished it on my own time. It was convenient to be able to complete the classes as I had time.
Academic Facilities8The advisors were excellent. The setup on my computer made it simple to do my homework and figure out what I needed to do next.
Social Life3I Studied online. I did not have social experiences at school.
Placement ServicesI did not finish the program. I am not sure about job placement.
Alumni NetworkI did not have a lot of experience with the alumni network. I can say the teacher was very polite and helpful.

Studying Health Care Administration (completion in: 2010)

12/11/2011

"I was able to get what I needed and that is what is most important. They had great educators."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf you just want to focus on the actual class work, then this school is for you. If you want to mix socializing into your schooling, then perhaps you should look at other options.
Satisfaction With Major7The school provides a high quality education at an affordable price. I was impressed at how far the staff is willing to go to cater to your needs as an individual.
Instruction8The instructors were very easy to communicate with. The extent to which they wished to helped showed how much they cared.
Cost5I was provided with a degree at a low cost. However, there should be more school sponsored scholarships.
Schedule Flexibility8The school had very flexible hours for classes. I was able to schedule all my classes around my full time job.
Academic Facilities8My school has an excellent online library. Specific tools and applications we needed were hard to obtain, though.
Social Life5As it was mostly an online affair for me, I did not participate in school spirit activities. I was able to purchase an Ashworth shirt, though.
Placement Services8Ashworth worked with me to build my resume. I was able to find a job within three months of graduating.
Alumni Network4I didn't really meet a lot of people since it was online schooling. The discussion boards did help but not many people used them.

12/13/2011

"Never had a problem that did not get answered quickly and courteously. Loved the freedom the schooling provided."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would and I have recommended Ashworth to others. I believe in the value of the school and have let others know about it.
Satisfaction With Major8I believe the curriculum was well planned and the courses were easy to follow. I never had a problem getting assistance when I needed it.
Instruction8The courses were set up in a professional manner. The instructors are well qualified to instruct.
Cost10I believe the schooling through Ashworth is of great value. The freedom of the online courses is very valuable to adults seeking to further their education.
Schedule Flexibility10I was very pleased with the time frame within which we could finish course work. Also, the flexibility of online course study cannot be beaten.
Academic Facilities5Online courses tend to limit your access to school facilities. I believe Ashworth was doing a great job at developing these services for their online students.
Social Life5Another drawback to online schooling is the inability to participate in school spirit activities. This would be an area the school could use some improvement on.
Placement Services7The career services were well organized with lots of valuable information. I never used the job placement program.
Alumni Network7I never completed the program so never used the alumni support. What I did see of the support was very well organized.

Studying The Program That I Am Pursuing Is The Auto Mechanic Certificate. (completion in: 2011)

12/27/2011

"I am very satisfied with this school. They provide all the materials needed to complete this program. They are also helpful with all the questions that one may have."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?yesIt is simple to enroll and acceptance is guaranteed. All the materials are also provided for the completion of this program. The school is very affordable and allows the students to make their own payment plans.
Satisfaction With Major8I feel that they provide enough help to finish and be successful. They provide all the materials needed to complete the courses.
Instruction8They provide all the materials and information that are needed to complete this course. They make sure that there is always someone to help you when you need it.
Cost7It is a great value. They provide a great payment program that makes it affordable.
Schedule Flexibility9I use the online program. It is extremely flexible as I am able to work on my own time. This program is "at your own pace" so you can complete the assignments when you have the time.
Academic FacilitiesI only take the online program. I am not sure what the campus is like.
Social Life7I am not sure about the athletics of the school, but the school is all about school spirit. When you sign up for a program they give you a sticker for the bumper of your car.
Placement ServicesI am not finished with the program, so I do not know how the actual job placement is.
Alumni Network9They provide an online chat network through which alumni and current students can talk. It is a good system, yet I don't think many actually use it. I have yet to use it.

"This school will get me a degree quickly and without too much cost. I get out what I put into it. It's the best school available to a soldier."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI have recommended 3 other soldiers to Ashworth College. One is currently taking classes.
Satisfaction With Major5I liked the school for its convenience. It doesn't provide much of a challenging academic setting, though.
Instruction3I don't think I was ever instructed. I was provided with feedback on an essay, which was helpful.
Cost10This is the only course fully covered by the military. It fits my budget perfectly, as well as my schedule.
Schedule Flexibility10This is the most flexible college ever. I finished 1 semester of a class in 2 days. My entire 1st semester took 2 months.
Academic Facilities5Books are available at low prices. Course material is fantastic.

Instruction10The instructors seem to take a personal interest in my success as a student. Lessons are comprehensive and explained thoroughly.

Academic Facilities8I am still finding the online library a bit confusing to navigate. They do offer an outstanding list of resources.
