About the School

Assumption College, is a Catholic institution in the Assumptionist tradition. The college provides undergraduate degrees in the arts, fine arts, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and business. The graduate school at Assumption College provides the following programs: business/MBA, rehabilitation counseling, special education, counseling psychology and school counseling programs.

Academic Programs

Of particular interest is the online Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling program. The program is designed to meet national standards. Graduates are eligible to take the Certified Rehabilitation Counselors exam. The program provides the following areas of specialization: psychiatric rehabilitation, substance abuse rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation. The program is accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education.

The required practicum and internship seminars provide students hands-on experience as a counselor. The program includes an on-campus residency requirement which consists of a five day on-campus session during each of two summer semesters. Housing is provided on the campus.

The online Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling is asynchronous; students learn at their own convenience every week.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Applicants to the Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling program are required to have an undergraduate degree in biological or social sciences and/or have work experience in rehabilitation or human services. GRE's are not required. In addition, financial aid is available to those who qualify.
