About the School
Baker Online College is part of Baker College, a non-profit college system founded in 1911. The online school offers master's, bachelors's and associate's degrees and certificates in a flexible online environment. Students have access to Baker's classes from anywhere in the world. All students begin their educational experience with a three week long online orientation program which includes information regarding expectations and student requirements.
Academic Programs
Baker College Online offers more than 30 degree programs. Educational courses are offered in a variety of topics including technology, health and human services, computer science management and business. The online educational format focuses more on reading and writing than traditional courses. According to the college, the curriculums are continually updated to keep up with the changing demands of employers.
Learning Options
Baker's online classes last for six weeks. Online classrooms are available 24 hours per day and seven days per week. The typical online course has 12-15 students.
All the courses have beginning and ending dates and class work usually has specific deadlines. Some of the assignments will be completed off-line utilizing word processing software.
The school's Blackboard technology lets students participate in online classes. Students are also involved with interactive groups. Private discussions with instructors and other students are available.
Baker does not require students to take classes in a specific order or on specific dates. Spring, summer, fall and winter quarters are offered and each has two enrollment sessions.

Student Life
Students can review archived information such as lectures and discussions 24 hour a day. Students have online access to Baker's nine libraries and libraries located all over North America. In addition, graduated students have access to employment services such as job searching procedures, job postings and resume and cover letter writing assistance.
Development Coordinators are available to assist students in selecting classes and creating a schedule. Learners attending the online school are offered the same amount of support as students attending the campus.
Admissions, Loans, Grants and Scholarships
Scholarships are available for eligible students. Grants, student loans and other types of financial aid are provided.
