About the School

Founded in 1977 as The Bryman School, Broadview University offers specialized career training programs that grant undergraduate degrees and certificates for business, healthcare and technology. The school was also known for a period of time as Utah Career College until it was renamed in 2010. The university also provides online courses. The school reports that each program is continually reviewed by a program advisory committee, comprised of professionals active in industry. Broadview University is a member of the Globe Education Network, which offers a variety of shared resources.

Academic Programs

Broadview University's programs are organized into the following areas:

  • Business and Accounting – Courses across these programs cover strategy, problem solving, human resources, marketing, small businesses, computer information systems, law, business communications, economics, ethics, international business, and more. More information on the business administration program is below:
    • Business Administration – Offers the basics of business and accounting principles. Includes courses in computer information systems, marketing, contracts and business law, international business and other subjects.
  • Health Sciences – Available study topics include: health and exercise science, health information technology, massage therapy, medical assistant, medical coding and billing, nursing, pharmacy technology, and veterinary technology. More information on a few of these topics is below:
    • Medical Assistant – Provides training in a variety of medical and laboratory procedures as well as office tasks. The curriculum includes an externship in a clinical setting.
    • Health and Exercise Science – Offers training in a variety of fitness techniques and also provides essential business skills. The students study exercise program design, sports specific training, individual and group fitness, injury prevention and nutrition. An externship is part of the studies. In addition, graduates have the opportunity to sit for national certification exams.
    • Veterinary Technology – The program blends hands-on learning and lectures. The program thoroughly reviews veterinary support, patient care and office management procedures. Students have the opportunity to gain experience in an externship at a clinical setting.
  • Information Technology – Studies are designed to ready student to work with the wide range of computer systems, software, and networks in use today across an organization and within different businesses. Offers courses in systems analysis, database design and other technical subjects. The coursework also prepares students for IT industry certification exams.
  • Legal Science – The Legal Science's programs prepare students to work as paralegals in entry to mid level positions in a variety of legal services settings. Provides training in drafting contracts and motions and other types of legal documents. The program also offers a broad understanding of assisting lawyers at trial, interviewing clients, performing case investigations, researching legal issues and other topics. Externships in law offices and other types of legal environments are provided. Graduates may sit for the Certified Legal Assistant national paralegal certification exam.

Faculty
