About the School
Founded in 1982, Business Informatics Center has been helping students begin exciting new careers for over 25 years. Located in the large suburban area of Valley Stream, New York, Business Informatics Center is a small college preparing students for entry level positions. The college offers an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies, with major programs of study in court reporting and computer office technologies.
Business Informatics Center is committed to providing students with a high-quality education, and its faculty and administrators are members of reputable organizations such as National Court Reporters Association, Career College Association, and National Business Education Association, among others. The Center is authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to award an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies, and is accredited by The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Technology (ACCST).
Academic Programs
Two major courses of study are offered at Business Informatics Center, both leading to an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies:
- Computer Office Technologies – Program training students in careers such as computer operations, administrative assistant, medical office assistant, business management and executive, legal & medical secretary.
- Court Reporting – Program teaching the highly specialized skills leading to careers as a court reporter, freelance reporter, and real time (broadcast) captioner.
Learning Options
Classes at Business Informatics Center are held four days a week, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 to 3:00 or 3:30. Students receive personalized assistance due to small class sizes.

Business Informatics System offers a convenient commuter location in Valley Stream, New York. The Center offers a focused curriculum and dedicated faculty to help prepare students for entry-level employment upon graduation.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Business Informatics Center requires all prospective students to have a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, applicants must take the Career Programs Assessment test (CPAt), and score of a minimum of 130. A pre-admissions interview is also required, and applicants should contact the school to schedule a visit.
The Financial Aid Office at Business Informatics Center assists students with a wide variety of financial aid programs. The college participates in Federal and State financial aid programs, including Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, and PLUS loans.
