Since 1973, California Coast University (CCU) has been providing distance learning programs for working adults who are unable to complete their education in traditional campus programs due to geographical or time commitments. California Coast University offers online undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in business administration and management, psychology, education and criminal justice. All of the programs at CCU are online and do not require any travel to the University's offices in Santa Ana, California. CCU strives to deliver quality, challenging programs that provide maximum flexibility and can be started at any time of the year. California Coast University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).

Learning Options

Traditional classroom attendance is not required at California Coast University and students complete all course requirements online. All programs are self-paced, with degrees taking a minimum of one academic year to complete, with students required to complete all degree requirements within five years from the date of enrollment. Doctoral programs are a minimum of two years in length with a maximum of ten years from the date of enrollment, with students required to appear before their Dissertation Committee in person to orally present their dissertation.

Faculty

The faculty at California Coast University are highly qualified and experienced educators in their respective fields. In addition, all faculty members are experienced in distance learning education and are able to assist students throughout their program.

Student Life

California Coast University has a quality Student Services Department to assist students throughout their program with all of their academic needs. CCU has comprehensive Study Guides for each course, as well as a textbook rental library to obtain textbooks required in his or her local area.

Admissions and Financial Aid

All interested applicants at CCU must submit an application for admission and official transcripts. Additional requirements vary by program and may include a resume or any documentation related to prior life-learning experiences that may be related to the program. A personal interview is not required, but an applicant can request one with the Admissions staff.

California Coast University strives to keep costs low, with tuition based on a cost per unit of credit. Financial aid is not offered, but the school offers tuition payments plans as well as discount tuition rates for members of the U.S. military and their families.
