About the School

Career Training Academy (CTA) provides career-focused, hands-on career training. The school provides a career-oriented educational environment. The institution offers education programs in the fields of business, healthcare and massage therapy.

Some of the programs available at the Career Training Academy are shown below:

Academic Programs

  • Dental assistant program - The students learn Expanded Function Dental Assisting. The curriculum covers the various aspects of the occupation. The program also provides an externship in a professional dental office. The program takes 10 months to complete.
  • Medical Assistant program - Provides thorough training in administrative and clinical tasks. The curriculum covers numerous subjects including vital signs, phlebotomy, physical examination, patient history, EKGs and emergency medical procedures. Students are provided an externship in a professional medical office. The program takes eight and a half months to complete.
  • Associate in Specialized Technology degree in Medical Assisting program - Students are prepared to work with medical specialists. Students are trained in a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. The program is completed in 16 months. Those in the program who have an interest in working with children may apply for a special practical learning experience through a Children's Community Pediatrics externship.
  • Advanced Bodyworker AST degree program - Provides training in pathology and holistic health and wellness. Students are trained in a variety of massage techniques. The curriculum includes plenty of hands-on training. The program includes a medical massage and research project. Students work with clients with various medical conditions who may benefit from massage treatments. The program is completed in 15 and 1/2 months.
  • Business Administration/Accounting Technology program - Covers cost accounting, computerized accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, nonprofit accounting, auditing, accounting principles, database management, economics and other topics. The program includes an externship in a professional business setting. The program takes 16 and 1/2 months to complete.
  • Therapeutic Massage Technician program - An advanced program in Swedish massage which has an emphasis on therapeutic techniques and modalities. The program can be completed in six months.

Learning Options

Students attend classes at Career Training Academy four days per week. CTA school provides daytime and evening schedules.
