About the School

Founded in 1990, CDM Institute is a network of career education schools offering training in various fields, including healthcare, computer-aided design (CAD) and business. The Workforce Development Program in New Jersey and Pennsylvania has designated the institute as an approved training provider.

CDM's career-focused curriculums are based on a combination of practical training and classroom learning. The training facilities feature individual work-stations for every student.

Academic Programs

The institute offers a variety of technical, healthcare, and business career programs in its different locations. Program availability may vary with location. A partial list of CDM's programs include:

  • CAD/CAM Drafting – The program provides a comprehensive understanding of the CAD/CAM field. Students are taught the skills required to produce technical drawings and production plans for various products.
  • CNC Programming – The curriculum focuses on G-code programming, computer aided manufacturing basics and methods as well as specialized software.
  • Computerized Accounting/Bookkeeping – The program provides a foundation in accounting and finance. Bank operations, financial reports, budgeting, cost accounting and other topics are included in the curriculum.
  • Fundamental Computer Applications – Students are taught the basics of computer applications. Comprehensive training is provided in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other popular programs.
  • Medical Assisting – The program offers the fundamentals of caring for patients. Laboratory procedures, phlebotomy and other topics are included.
  • Nursing Assistant/CNA – The program offers a variety of health classes and prepares students to acquire a Nurse Assisting/Home Health Aid Certification.

Admissions and Financial Aid

In order to enroll at the institute, students must have a high school diploma or a GED credential or pass an Ability to Benefit Exam. Students are required to have a meeting with an admissions department representative. Regarding funding, CDM Institute offers help in obtaining grants and loans to those who qualify. Some of the programs provide tuition reimbursement for qualified enrollees. Partially subsidized or free training may be available for students who are unemployed.
