About Central Coast College

Central Coast College was established in 1983. The private career college offers certificate and diploma programs in Medical Office Administration, Administration/Billing, Accounting, Computer Office Administration, Pharmacy Technician Specialist and Medical Assisting. Practical learning is a major part of the curriculums. In addition, Central Coast College has high standards for students regarding appearance, attendance and professional behavior.

Central Coast College Academic Programs

  • Medical Assisting – Students are trained in administration and clinical and laboratory procedures. An externship in a physician's office or clinic is also part of the curriculum.
  • Medical Biller and Coder – Offers a solid foundation in medical terminology, specialized computer programs, anatomy and physiology, medical office tasks and medical insurance billing.
  • Accounting – Students are trained in the areas of accounting systems, computerized spreadsheets, word processing, accounting theories and computerized accounting.
  • Computer Office Administration – The comprehensive program offers skills in bookkeeping, preparing reports and documents, word processing, basic accounting principles, computerized accounting and basic office tasks. Internships provide on-the-job experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician – The curriculum is designed to be in-depth to prepare graduates to work in retail drug stores and hospital pharmacies. An externship in a pharmacy is included.
  • Medical Administrative Assistant – The programs's objective is to provide students a thorough understanding of medical office procedures, basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology as well as specialized computer programs.
