About Central Florida College
Central Florida College is owned by Education Affiliates Inc. Students are provided training for professional employment in specialized technical fields. A primary goal of the college is to meet the demands of employers. Central Florida College offers associate degrees and diplomas in medical assisting, cosmetology, dental assisting, health information technology; heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration; and pharmacy technology.
Central Florida College Academic Programs
- Health Information Technology Associate Degree – Students are provided training in a variety of clerical and administrative duties, utilizing computer based medical management software, word processing software and coding systems. Students are prepared for entry-level jobs as medical insurance specialists, medical information coders, medical insurance processors and medical administrative assistants. The program also includes an externship.
- Health Information Technology Diploma – The program offers a solid foundation in the various aspects of clinical/administrative duties. Graduates of the program have opportunities for employment in jobs such as medical insurance specialist, medical information coder, medical insurance processor and medical administrative assistant. The program also includes an externship.
- Cosmetology Diploma – Includes thorough training in the various aspects of personal grooming including working with hair, manicures, pedicures, facials and make-up. Students are prepared to take the Florida State Board of Cosmetology examination. Business and sales concepts are also part of the curriculum.
- Dental Assistant Diploma – Provides a comprehensive review of patient care, laboratory duties, and office tasks. Hands-on training is emphasized.
- Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – Provides training for entry level employment as a HVACR technician. The curriculum includes training in computerized diagnostics of commercial refrigeration, heat pumps, gas heat and air conditioning. Students are trained to work in residential and commercial environments.
- Medical Assistant Associate Degree – Provides comprehensive training in the various administrative and clerical tasks performed in a medical office. The students also learn to perform clinical procedures. The program includes lab training.
- Medical Assistant Diploma – Offers a solid foundation in the various administrative, clerical and clinical duties performed in a medical office. The curriculum also provides lab training.
- Pharmacy Technology Associate Degree – Includes classroom lectures and training in a mock lab environment. Graduates have opportunities for employment in hospitals, retail and wholesale pharmacies, nursing care facilities, health maintenance organizations and with drug manufactures.

Student Life
The Student Affairs Staff assists students navigate their way through college. The staff offers a variety of assistance. The staff also provides a variety of activities throughout the academic year.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Students must have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent. Candidates are guided through the admissions procedure by admissions department representatives. Career goals are reviewed during an interview with an admissions staff member. Regarding financial assistance, financial aid staff members help students put together a financial aid package. Over 80% of the students attending Central Florida College receive some type of financial aid.
