About CHI Institute

CHI Institute is a career-focused school owned by the Kaplan Higher Education Corporation. The school's history dates back to 1935 when its Broomall campus was originally founded in Detroit, Michigan. The institute provides associate degrees and diplomas in criminal justice, electronics, computer technology, healthcare and in professional trades. The schools's goal is to provide the knowledge and skills currently in demand by employers.

CHI Institute Academic Programs

The school offers a variety of educational programs including:

  • Computer Networking Diploma – Offers training in database management, network administration and networking. Enrollees learn to upgrade, maintain and repair software and hardware.
  • Dental Assistant Diploma – A solid foundation in the various tasks of a dental assistance is provided. An internship provides students with practical experience.
  • Medical Office Administration Diploma – Offers training in a wide variety of tasks such as billing and coding, transcription, bookkeeping and insurance procedures.
  • Computer Support Technician Program – A comprehensive review of computer programs, software, hardware and network systems is provided. Students are offered the skills required for administration, support and maintenance of networks and computer systems.
  • Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology – The program offers a comprehensive understanding of commercial and residential air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Students are prepared to take the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute's EPA Technician Certification Exam.
  • Electrician Diploma Program – After learning the basics of electricity, enrollees are trained in maintenance, repair and replacement of electrical components and systems. The thorough program prepares graduates for the Network Cabling Specialist certification examinations.
  • Pharmacy Technician Diploma – The program teaches the skills required to assist pharmacists with medical dispensing, inventory maintenance, database management and other essential tasks. An externship provides students with practical experience.

Student Life

A large number of the enrollees are working adults. Most of the students are residents in the region. Typically, the enrollment is over 700. The Career Placement Services department assists students find part-time work. Graduates are offered employment assistance throughout their career. In addition, school representatives offer assistance in locating housing.
