About the School
The Computer Career Center (CCC) has curriculum tracks in vocational training and occupational education. The school has a focus in the medical, business, and graphics areas.
The school uses a Governing Board and an Advisory Board made up of professionals from business, industry, and education to develop, review and update curriculum. CCC also maintains an open line of communication with area employers and educational institutions to develop and update curriculum to ensure that the programs are real-world applicable.
Academic Programs
Programs are available within the business, legal, medical, technology and design areas. These include:
- Business Management and Administration – Modules are designed to guide students into entry-level positions in management. They will gain organizational, managerial, and leadership skills and develop communications skills for personnel management. Business Administration courses target developing competence in business and word/data processing operations that are critical to automated offices. Automated accounting teaches the standard software packages used in the accounting field. Students also learn how to create general ledgers, payroll records, and spreadsheets. International Trade studies teach skills for careers in importing and exporting functions.
- Healthcare – Medical Assisting courses provide students with the skills to work in variety of medical environments. Class work includes physiology, medical terminology and anatomy. Nurse Assistants help patients meet their basic needs and they help doctors and nurses to provide the best treatment for patients. Nurse Assistant Home Health Aide graduates are trained to be able to treat homebound and hospital patients. Vocational Nurse programming prepares students to supervise other nurses and perform some medical treatments. Dental Assistant students learn dental science and biomedical basics, how to work with dental materials, and how to complete dental procedures.
- Design – This includes Web site/Graphic Design, which targets the technical aspects of web site and graphic design software, as well as, tips and techniques for implementing ideas.
Learning Options
Programs are designed to accommodate the student's schedule; day and evening classes are available. Classes run in 8 six-week terms.
Faculty
The Center strives to hire experienced educators who are experts in their fields. Educators work with a Governing Board and Advisory Board to focus programs on meeting the needs of the workplace.
Student Life
Student-to-student interaction takes place in the classroom where instructions mentor trainees and help them to develop a sense of teamwork. On campus college housing in not available.
Admissions and Financial Aid
CCC has an "open door" admissions policy; this ensures that applicants have access to career opportunities and general education. CCC's policy provides admission opportunity for post-secondary programs for applicants that have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
The school targets a student body with interest, demand and potential growth in their chosen career path. International applicants can get guidance from the school for working through the requirements for obtaining a student visa.
The Center participates in a variety of financial aid programs to assist qualified applicants. Aid may be available from Federal Grant Programs and Federal Loans. Funds are allocated to applicants based on student need.
