About the School

Located in Aurora, Colorado, the Denver School of Hypnotherapy (DSH) provides comprehensive education in hypnotherapy at an affordable rate. DSH was founded in 2004 and has six core instructors with over 200 combined years of experience. Students receive over 500 classroom hours of training covering skills such as the basics of hypnosis, counseling and advanced techniques, and clinical skills. Students completing the program including examinations and internship will pass the course and receive certification as a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.

DSH also offers a wide selection of continuing education classes including training in stage hypnosis, self-hypnosis, medical hypnosis and two different marketing classes specifically designed for hypnotherapists, as well as many others. Training programs include hands-on, supervised one-on-one sessions with the general public. The Denver School of Massage Therapy is approved and regulated by the Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools (DPOS).

Academic Programs

The Denver School of Hypnotherapy offers the following programs:

• Hypnotherapist Training – With 500 hours of training, DSH exceeds the 300 hours of classroom training that is generally accepted for most professional hypnotherapy organizations. DSH's comprehensive program includes training in several major modalities and an internship program where students receive hands-on training through ten supervised client cases. Upon documented resolutions of cases, students are eligible to receive the Clinical Hypnotherapist Certificate.
• Medical Hypnotherapy/Mind Body Healing – Program is the only certification program of its type in the area and is designed for hypnotherapists and psychotherapists wanting to increase their skills.
• Certified Addiction Counseling – Comprehensive selection of courses in addiction counseling offered in conjunction with the Colorado Family Therapy Institute.

In addition, DSH offers a wide selection of continuing education courses in many areas such as marketing your practice, medical hypnosis, stage hypnosis, and pharmacology, among several others.

Learning Options

DSH's hypnotherapy training generally meets every other weekend and takes 10 months, or 24 weekends to complete. Students must also complete the internship of 10 resolved cases. Weekend classes are usually held on three consecutive days on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Students may reaudit any class they have taken for free.

Faculty

The Denver School of Hypnotherapy has highly-qualified, Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists as faculty. DSH provides a diverse learning experience through its six core instructors, having over 200 combined years of experience, including four Ph.D's, two licensed counselors, a medical doctor, and a licensed Practical nurse.

Student Life

With weekend training hours, many students can maintain their current lifestyle while enrolled in DSH's programs. DSH offers comfortable training facilities at their Aurora, Colorado location. The school also has a Student Center to assist students with their learning needs.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Interested applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. DSH also requires applicants to be interviewed by the school staff, submit an application, and complete an enrollment agreement upon acceptance. Applicants must also demonstrate literacy and the ability to learn class materials. Due to the intense nature of the training, DSH requires students to be self-disclosing and participate in self-exploration opportunities in class.

DSH offers affordable tuition rates but does not offer financial aid. Payment plans are available.
