About the School
Established in the 1950s, Dover Business College is a private college that offers training programs to students for careers in healthcare, business, and information technology. The college reports to provide the most widely utilized computer technology and software. In addition, guest speakers from healthcare facilities and corporations provide students information regarding the latest industry trends and employment opportunities.
Academic Programs
The College is comprised of programs within three schools: The School of Business, the School of Health Care, and the School of IT.
- School of Business – Business Administration focuses on leadership, communication, problem solving, team building and management. The concentration in Computerized Accounting provides students with hands-on training with software including the QuickBooks accounting package as well as spreadsheets and database applications. Students learn about the principles of management and marketing. The Office Systems Management track covers software training using spreadsheets, databases, project management, Microsoft Office, Adobe, GoLive, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and more. Computer Applications teaches a series of business classes designed to help advance the student's career in the business world.
- School of IT – PC Support and Network Administration provides students with hands-on computer experience. The curriculum teaches individuals the common requirements of IT and business while introducing them to applicable theory. The program goals include teaching students to install, support and configure an enterprise network and to decipher network hardware, software, and PC problems. The Database Administration & Support program teaches the use of real world software databases from publishers like Microsoft and Oracle. Students are prepared to complete industry certification exams. Email Administration and Support works to give students a baseline understanding of industry-current email systems and to manage the configuration, security, and problems with those systems. Software used including systems from Microsoft and Lotus. Students are readied to take certified examinations.
- School of Healthcare – Programs are offered so that individuals can jump start their careers as: Surgical Processing Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, Medical Insurance and Coding Administrators, Patient Care Technicians and Surgical Technologists.

Faculty
The faculty have professional and educational credentials appropriate to the subjects they teach. They are charged with creating a nurturing educational environment in which students learn both real-world knowledge and theoretical principles.
Student Life
The school is host to several student-sponsored social events every year. As part of an ongoing commitment to area citizens, the school participates in community activities, food drives, and fund raising events.
Guest speakers regularly come on campus to discuss the latest industry trends and career opportunities for students.
Dover places an emphasis on job placement as part of the overall experience for its students. Its Career Services and Placement staff help students find employment throughout the United States. Assistance is provided for resumes, interviewing, internships, and job searches. Career fairs and onsite employer presentations are conducted regularly. Dover has a Professional Career Development course that all students take.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Dover Business College utilizes a rolling admissions policy. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED credential. Adult learners have the opportunity to acquire college credit based on experience. Prospective students are required to pass an entrance examination. The school recommends that students participate in a personal interview. Nursing applicants must submit an essay as part of the enrollment process. Surgical Technologist and Patient Care Technician students must undergo a physical assessment prior to admittance.
Dover's financial aid administrator helps students to create a personalized plan to finance their education. Loans, grants, veteran benefits and scholarships may be available for eligible students. To ignite the process students should submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
