"It is what I expected it to be. I had no intentions of staying at Everest for long. I just wanted to get a few college credits to save money and then transfer to a bigger university."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIt depends on what a student was looking for. Certainly there are better schools out there, but if money is an issue then Everest is a good choice.
School Reputation7Above average, but at the end of the day it's not about the schools name - it's about how hardworking the student is and how much the student is willing to strive to achieve what he or she wants.
Satisfaction With Major5Average instruction. I decided to go to Everest as opposed to the local CC. But eventually I transferred all my credits to another institution.
Instruction5Some instructors were really good, others were sub par. The level of professionalism displayed by professors was different compared to other colleges.
Cost3Overall, costs are very reasonable at Everest. It was cheaper and more convenient to start off rather than attending a bigger university.
Schedule Flexibility10The class schedule was extremely flexible, and that's why I liked it so much. I was able to work 40 hours per week and still take college classes.
Academic Facilities5Tutors and group study were very good. But there was little interaction between advisors and students. Some professors were helpful outside of class or via email, while some were not.
Social Life6Slightly above average. I met a lot of nice people from around the area who had the same career intentions as me.
Placement Services5Average. The school helped out with transferring students out, but little was done for active job search and extra curricular activities related to one's major.
Alumni Network1I did not have a chance to network or associate with any alumni who completed the same major as me. They did have a career center but that was more focused on transferring to other institutions.

"The enrollment counselor lied and told me the classes were self-paced and there were no study groups. In fact, it is not self-paced and while there were no study groups per se, there were group projects and I did not like that my grade was dependent on someone else's level of participation and/or competence."

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI would possibly recommend Everest ground campus for vocational study (massage therapy, medical assisting, etc). I would not recommend it for anything else.
School Reputation5Everest is viewed as a vocational institution. I don't think it is taken as seriously as an academic institution.
Satisfaction With Major1The school admits ANYONE without prior testing. Extremely poor grammar and writing skills made it difficult to complete group tasks; some students thought their writing was wonderful when in actuality, their skills were at grade school level.
Instruction5The instructors actually worked in the field of study they were teaching. Sometimes the instructor taught as if we were already working in the field and did not provide sufficient explanations.
Cost1To me, the cost of the classes were higher than the quality of the education. It's not worth it.
Schedule Flexibility5I was enrolled in the online program. It was flexible in that students did not have to be online at a particular time to attend class.
Academic Facilities5Resources were adequate. Laptops were supposed to be provided, however I never received one.
Social LifeThis was an online program. There were no school events.
Placement ServicesI cannot fairly rate the school in this area. I did not complete the program.
Alumni NetworkI cannot fairly rate the school in this area. I did not complete the program.

"Overall I am happy with the education I am receiving from Everest. The teachers are great and the classes are challenging."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend Everest to anyone pursing any kind of career. They have a wide variety of career path possibilities.
School Reputation7From what I have heard, they have a good reputation among employers. Everest is a very well known college.
Satisfaction With Major8My school has a very challenging program for criminal justice students. I love a challenge and that is why I picked Everest online.
Instruction9The instructors are very helpful and detailed about what you need to do to succeed in class. I have learned everything I could through these classes.
Cost9My tuition was covered by loans and grants. I only 25 dollars out of pocket. They provide everything you need to apply for financial aid.
Schedule Flexibility9Class schedule is pretty based on your needs. There is no set time you have to be there. You just have to make sure you check in so many days a week and post so many comments.
Academic Facilities6Being an online student, I don't know much about what they offer on campus. They do, however, have a help desk and online library for students to use.
Social Life5I am an online student so I don't attend social events. You can, however, build a social network and develop new friendships with your classmates.
Placement Services7I am at this time unsure of the job placement services because I have not yet graduated. From what I have read and heard from other sources, it's pretty good.
Alumni Network8They have a great support team. You don't just have the support of the teacher, you also have the support of the counselors and other students.

"I am very satisfied with my education. Unfortunately, credits do not transfer to other schools."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeAccreditation is key for graduate school. One would have to attend Everest for a Masters as to not repeat general classes elsewhere. The credits don't transfer.
School Reputation7The reputation of the school hasn't been an issue with employers thus far. As long as the knowledge base for the position meets standards there hasn't been a question regarding this school.
Satisfaction With Major9The professors were very knowledgeable. I learned a lot from them.
Instruction9The instructors were well qualified. I left school having learned many business skills.
Cost2I feel the cost was too expensive for the quality. The benefits of private college did not meet the cost of attending, especially compared to a state school.
Schedule Flexibility10I worked full time in the restaurant industry. I was able to attend both day and evening classes.
Academic Facilities8The facilities were adequate. I only used the library a few times. It was limited in its resources.
Social Life5I didn't attend many social events. I was a full time student with a full time job.
Placement Services9I did not get a chance to speak to a counselor regarding job placement. I did attend a job fair which led to a position with a mortgage company.
Alumni Network4Soon after graduation I was contacted by the school regarding job placement. I haven't been contacted by alumni networks.

9/28/2011

"I had a great experience at that school. The only reason I did not stay at the school is because at the last minute I decided to change my major to one that they did not offer."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesAbsolutely. If you are looking for a vocational school, Everest College is one of the best. They provide you with everything that you need to succeed.
School Reputation8I think that Everest has a neutral reputation. A lot of people judge the school based on its advertisements or the the types of students that attend that school. However, out of all the schools out there that are like Everest College, Everest is in fact number 1.
Satisfaction With Major8Very good school, everything you do is hands-on. What you do in the classrooms is exactly what you are going to be doing when you become a medical assistant.
Instruction10This school is very good as they have everything you need. They buy the equipment, books, and anything else that you would need and you are able to pay them back once you graduate.
Cost8I think it was pretty good considering everything that was given to me. After all my books and supplies and factoring in financial aid, I owed about $5000 after graduation.
Schedule Flexibility10This school has very flexible scheduling. My classes started at 6am. They have night and weekend classes as well.
Academic Facilities10Extremely good! This school has everything you need to succeed in whatever it is you're studying at Everest. They have plenty of computers, supplies, tutoring programs, and job placement programs to make sure that you have a bright future ahead of you once you graduate.
Social Life1The school was more about its academics than its social experience. There were no clubs or social organizations that I knew of when I attended there.
Placement Services10I did not get placed into a job by this school, however i know that they have an extensive career services program, as it was offered to me. They set you up with your first interviews after graduation.
Alumni Network3There was not that much support from alumni.

"I'm very happy that I graduated from here. I'm very satisfied with the guidance the school provided when I was looking for a job."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI will recommend the school because of the many courses they offer and the excellent teachers they have.
School Reputation10Teachers are professional and well trained in their specific fields.
Satisfaction With Major9I think they need more counselors for the students. They also need more security at night for students attending to night classes.
Instruction10They are very professionals and have a lot of patience with the students.
Cost10They offer excellent financial plans for qualifying students. There are very good payment options.
Schedule Flexibility10They offered classes at night and in the day time. They also had classes on the weekends.
Academic Facilities10The labs for massage are big - every student has a table. They also provide lotions and oils.
Social Life10When they have open houses, you can bring your family. They also have graduation activities.
Placement Services10It's excellent because recruiters go to the school to encourage students to apply to their companies.
Alumni Network10They have a good resource room with computers available for the students. Students can access books and computers at any time.

"I went into Everest with the belief that my degree would land me a job. I am still jobless."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI just do not see enough effort in terms of career services. They should include a job referral program.
School Reputation5For me, I think Everest is running their program well. Therefore, the reputation is good.
Satisfaction With Major4I finished with the hope of get a better paying job but I did not find what I wanted. I think Everest shouldn't boost hope for their students.
Instruction5What Everest teaches is good information. However, there are no good jobs in the area of a students' interests.
Cost5My tuition was paid with financial aid and grants. I think the cost of attending this school is about average.
Schedule Flexibility5My schedule was great. I got a chance to stick with the schedule I already had.
Academic Facilities5The material is good. However, the part about graduating and finding work in the field of study is poor.
Social LifeI only participated in class. I did not do anything else.
Placement Services1I am still jobless. I wanted to get into the medical field but my degree is worth nothing.
Alumni Network5I never got the chance to meet anyone accept the instructors.

Studying Medical Assisting (completion in: 2010)

10/15/2011

"Very unsatisfied. The cost was way too high. The time I put in was wasted. A lot of the time we weren't working. Once an assignment was finished, that was it."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI would not recommend it to anyone. The time and money isn't worth it. There is too much changing from month to month.
School Reputation2A lot of employers did not care much to see it on my resume. They claim a lot of students from the institution did not know what they were supposed to have learned.
Satisfaction With Major1It was very unorganized - rules and procedures changed too much. Some of the teachers really had no idea what they were doing.
Instruction5I did learn a few useful things about the field I was going into. Overall though, I was not impressed.
Cost1The overall cost was FAR too expensive for what I actually learned. I am now in a small amount of debt because of it, which wouldn't make me feel so bad if I had actually got my money's worth.
Schedule Flexibility1You got a lot of points deducted from your grade if you didn't show up for a day. A lot of the staff really didn't listen to the students at all.
Academic Facilities6Professors were available (although some were not much help). We were not to use the computers unless told too. The library was nice and the lab was excellent and had a lot of potential.
Social Life1I don't even recall any social events. We did use to have a "student day" the first few months I attended. I loved it, then it disappeared.
Placement Services5The career services lady was a lot more helpful than any of my teachers. But in the end, I got a really bad job and had trouble finding another.
Alumni NetworkWell it is okay, but I take my classes online and I did not see anything about alumni on the school site. I would probably have to get an alumni handbook.

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend my school to others because you can grow with Everest. Plus, the faculty is very helpful and understanding.
School Reputation10I would say that they have a great rep among employers. Our commercials are on television all over the place.
Satisfaction With Major10I am satisfied with my school because the student advisors are very helpful. I am also satisfied because I was given the opportunity to become the ambassador of my school.
Instruction10At Everest they have a career services team who helps you to find a job in school as well as once you get out. They send emails with job offers related to what you want to do.
Cost5Well, the cost of my bachelors will be around $16,000, including books and financial aid, so it is not that bad.
Schedule Flexibility10Since I am an online student, I can log on anytime. Some semesters are different from others. Sometimes assignments have to be turned in every week, but sometimes it's every two weeks. I think it depends on the teacher.
Academic Facilities10Well, when taking classes online, everything is available to you on the website, including the library. It opens in a different link.
Social Life10My social experience is great, even though they do not have a student lounge online.
Placement Services5They send emails with jobs. They also contact employers for you.
Alumni Network10They are there if you feel like you are going to fail. I have never seen so much support from a school

Would Recommend?yesI have a lot of friends with kids and this school would be the best option for them.
School Reputation10Well, one of my teachers from my last college actually told me to switch to Everest. I have only ever heard good things about this school.
Satisfaction With Major10They helped with a lot of the work. Whenever I had a question they answered it in the best way possible.
Instruction10I learned more in this program than I did at my last college. They described everything in great detail.
Cost10This is the part I loved. I have two kids and they made sure I could make the payments. They worked with me to get the materials I needed and I appreciate them for it. I thought I would never be able to do it.
Schedule Flexibility10I have two kids and they gave me a schedule that allowed me to go to school when my husband was home. I was also able to work a part time job
Academic Facilities10Well, I have been to the college just once. The lab used for the medical field was very nice and had everything we needed on hand. The library was hard for me to figure out at first but after a while, and with their help of course, I could find everything I needed. I love them for it.
Social Life9They had good school spirit. I am not on the campus enough to say it is excellent, but from what I have seen it is great.

Satisfaction With Major5It was okay. I liked going to school there, but it could be have been done more through the internet.
Instruction5The instructors were excellent. I got lots of one on one time.
Cost5It was expensive. All education costs money though, so overall it was pretty fair.
Schedule Flexibility5They had good flexibility. I took classes twice a week and it suited me alright.
Academic Facilities5They did a good job providing this service. I found it more than adequate.
Social Life5There wasn't much of a scene. I am not sure about other majors though.
Placement Services5I heard it was decent. I never used this service, though.
Alumni Network5There wasn't much of a network to connect with other students and alumni. I didn't like that very much.

Studying Business Major With A Minor In Economics (completion in: 2013)

11/14/2011

"Very satisfied. The classes are great and I learn a lot. The professors are very funny and knowledge about the subjects they teach. And all the friends I have made are really great. I can not imagine going to school anywhere else. The combination of all of this makes for a great experience."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIt is a great experience and you will learn a lot. The price is very reasonable and Everest promises to do their best to help you find a job after college. The professors may also be able to aid somebody with this as well.
School Reputation8Everest is kind of an unknown school. When I go home and tell people which school I am attending they never have any idea where it is or what state it is in. That is kind of disheartening, however I am confident that employers see things differently. They'll know Everest's business program and will be happy to hire a graduate from it.
Satisfaction With Major8Everest has a great business program and I am thankful that. I am a business major and do not have to suffer through any of the classes that my friends have to take. Everest does a great job with business and all the professors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Instruction9The quality of instruction is great because the professors used to be business people who have since decided to teach. They are extremely knowledgeable and utilize their own past experiences when teaching in the classroom. Their experience really helps all the business students because we know we have a source of information from a well trained professional in business.
Cost9Well my family does not have much money, so thankfully they offered me money to come to their school. The payments I make to the school are really easy and efficient. Overall, the school is worth the money they demand. I'm having a great time and even though my family doesn't have all the money in the world, we can still afford Everest.
Schedule Flexibility10Everest has great class flexibility, although I would never take a night class (because I don't want to be in class for 2 and a half hours), a lot are offered. This is very beneficial for the adult students who have jobs during the day. Also, many online, winter, and summer courses are offered. I am about to take a winter course this coming winter in order to get my credits back on the right track.
Academic Facilities7We don't have many computer labs or services like that, but our library is great. It is a great place to do work when you find that your housemates are being too loud. The library is also open very late which is good for the students who like to procrastinate.
Social Life10Although I am not that into athletics, I still have had a great experience at Everest. The friends I have made here will no doubt be some of my best friends for life. The parties are great and there are numerous school sponsored events and especially charity services.
Placement Services7I feel like Everest has great job placement help after graduation. Unless the school is lying to us, they do their best to help us find a job related to our major after we graduate. This makes me feel good because the job market is in a very scary place right now. The career services assistance is great, too. They are always open to discuss any student's problems.
Alumni Network7The alumni network is very good. Many graduates from Everest thankfully come back and live in Arlington. It's just a really great place. The school has a service where I can call any business graduate who chose to have their name on the list. I can talk to them and discuss classes or future job hunting.

Would Recommend?maybeIf you have self-discipline, then try online courses. If not, be sure you are enrolled into a real classroom environment.
School Reputation8I believe employers do respect an Everest degree.
Satisfaction With Major5Online education was not my cup of tea. It was hard to stay on task.
Instruction5I think it is difficult for me to say much since I had a hard time with self-discipline.
Cost5The cost was comparable to other online programs.
Schedule Flexibility8The online program was flexible, but maybe a little too flexible for me.
Academic Facilities5I was an online student so I didn't utilize the facilities, but the professors were helpful.
Social Life1Once again, I was an online student. I didn't socialize.

"The school is a good school. They really do try to help you succeed."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThis is a great school. I feel they are great for people who work or have children.
School Reputation10All of the employers were helpful. Everyone knew each other around the school.
Satisfaction With Major10The class was fun and enticing. Also, I loved the fact that the uniforms and books were included in the tuition, not to mention the fact that the teachers were very knowledgeable.
Instruction10The classes were very informative. The instructors were always available if we had questions. Also, the instructors showed us how to perform the techniques correct if we did something wrong.
Cost10Compared to the school I attend now, Everest is very affordable. I really think it is a good deal due to the fact that they include books and uniforms.
Schedule Flexibility10The schedule was flexible. You could either go in the morning or at night. Personally, I took the morning classes from 8am to 2pm.
Academic Facilities10We formed our own study group. However, sometimes the instructor would stay and help out also.
Social Life10We had parties from time to time. I really enjoyed the experience there.
Placement Services10Even though I didn't graduate because of a pregnancy, I have heard that my friends were helped to get jobs after completion. Also, while I was enrolled, the instructors would chat with people that were close to graduation about how they were liking their internships.
Alumni NetworkI rated this as average because I am unsure about this section. I really didn't hear too much about alumni.

"I was very satisfied with my instructors and courses. I was not satisfied with my counselor not returning my calls and just not being very helpful."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI would first try to convince the person to go to a school closer to them in case they needed to go in to see a counselor or something, even if they were just taking online classes. If they still wanted to go here, I would recommend it.
School Reputation5I think Everest has a decent reputation with employers, but it's not as good as big time colleges. I haven't been to a job interview yet, but I think Everest will be impressive enough.
Satisfaction With Major7I'm never on campus - I do it all online. But they don't get a perfect score because I have a lot of trouble getting help on the phone. I leave message after message for my counselor and sometimes it takes her weeks to call me back.
Instruction8I feel like my curriculum has been very relevant and includes things that I need to learn for my career. I have learned a lot and am supposed to have help in finding a job.
Cost5I liked my school, but it was still too expensive. They charge extra for online classes, which is crazy since the teachers don't even have to leave home.
Schedule Flexibility10With online classes, you can do your work whenever it is convenient for you. They also have many night and weekend classes.
Academic Facilities9My instructors have always been easily accessible. Tutors are always available for any class, even online ones, all the time.
Social Life2I have not attended or been invited to attend any social events. I do believe our students still have decent school spirit, thought.
Placement Services5I haven't gone through job placement yet, but a friend has. She said they helped her find a job while a woman was on maternity leave, but once the other woman came back, she lost her job and they didn't help her again.
Alumni NetworkI do not know any of my school's alumni. I do, however, get support occasionally in other ways - through counselors and other students.

Studying Dental Assisting (completion in: 2006)

11/8/2011

"I loved my teacher and the facility. But I did think it cost too much money, and did not help with a job at all."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI felt that the resources are good, but some of the lessons were antiquated. They needed to update some of the skills, and be honest with the job expectations.
School Reputation6It seems that most employers have heard of Everest College. Most employers seem to associate the school with positiveness.
Satisfaction With Major6I kind of felt like they over emphasized the job placements and how much you get paid to start. The first job I got, I had to get myself, and it paid way less than what the school was advertising.
Instruction9My teacher is now the dental manager for the dental department. When she was my teacher, she always gave clear instruction, and always had time to help us if we needed it. She still helps me to this day.
Cost2Several years later, I'm still paying off my loan. It has affected my credit negatively, and I'm not even working as a dental assistant anymore.
Schedule Flexibility6The classes were held everyday for four hours. Missing a class wasn't really an option, as you would miss too much work. It was tough to hold down a job and go to school. But I guess that's true of any school.
Academic Facilities7I felt like there was plenty of information at my fingertips. We had access to computers, and could come sit in on another class if we were behind.
Social Life3There wasn't any camaraderie like at most schools. You just went and then left. No programs or clubs for social activities.
Placement Services1They didn't help me at all with a job. I felt like my internship just used me for extra help, and never intended to hire me. They've never been able to get me a job.
Alumni Network5I haven't really been in contact with the school or students, but I still speak to my teacher for help.

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend the school to anyone pursuing an education or career and is mainly looking for convenience when considering their class schedule. I have found a lot of single parents that enjoy the experience of Everest.
School Reputation5I have heard equal amounts of good and bad ratings. I think it really depends on the individual and their attitude.
Satisfaction With Major10Classes are very easy to understand and I have plenty of resources. They provide you with the tools you need to get the proper training for your major.
Instruction8The instructors are people who usually work in the field you are focusing on and have credible experience and knowledge of the subject. They provide you with detailed instructions for your assignments and a lot of resources.
Cost7It is a little more expensive than a traditional university, but in reality you are paying extra for the convenience. I have not found the financial aid experience very pleasant because I ran into a few issues.
Schedule Flexibility10The classes are amazingly flexible. You can work at your pace and on your own time schedule.
Academic Facilities9The college has wonderful academic advisors that are there for you anytime. They have so many resources online that it would be hard to not be able to find the help you need.
Social Life8The online classes are just as social as a traditional college. You can interact with everyone easily and you get to meet people from all over the place and from almost every walk of life.
Placement Services8I have not reached the job placement level, yet but I have read several reviews stating that they will help you find a job. I have interacted with several fellow students that have already received their degrees and are working in their field of choice and have returned to pursue more education.
Alumni Network10I have been provided with several ways to communicate with the staff on any issue I may have. You can contact them anytime for support with any issue, including personal issues, even online.

Would Recommend?yesThe school has many different degree programs. They have different ways of helping financially and making sure the student is helped every step of the way.
School ReputationI have not had an employer since I started school.
Satisfaction With Major10My advising team has been very helpful and personable. The college has made sure that I have been successful in my classes.
Instruction10My instructors are very hands on and answer any questions I have. Every assignment is explained in great detail.
Cost10The way they have tuition set up is different. They charge a set amount each semester no matter how many classes you take, which means I get more classes for less money.
Schedule Flexibility10All of my classes are online. It has been very helpful in working and taking care of my daughter.
Academic Facilities10The online resources that the college provides to me are very helpful. They offer tutoring, an online library, and a paper editing resource.
Social Life1I am an online student so I don't have any social networks from school.
Placement ServicesI have not had any experience with the job placement services. I have spoken with my adviser and they have said that job placement is something that is available to me.
Alumni Network10I am not a graduate yet, but I have heard that the graduates receive benefits. I am looking forward to graduating.

"Overall, I was very impressed with the school. They don't sell you any false dreams and they are there to help you succeed. If you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you."

Would Recommend?yesAbsolutely! You get hands on learning that prepares you for the real deal, small classes that enable you to learn better with less distraction, and lots of support from your peers and staff. You can't get any better than that!
School Reputation10The Everest College I attended has a great reputation. Most employers would come to our school looking for potential employees to hire. They try to make you into the best you can be, so you can get hired by the best!
Satisfaction With Major8It was a great school, although the career service staff needed better ex-tern sites in which to place their students.
Instruction10Everything I learned was beneficial and prepared me for the real world. I managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA due to my teachers' excellent teaching skills.
Cost10It was a great value for the educational experience. I received everything I needed to succeed and the teachers went over and beyond to make sure you got your money's worth.
Schedule Flexibility10It was extremely flexible for me and my family. I was able to go to school, work, and still take care of my kids with no stress at all.
Academic Facilities10The resources that we did have available to us were unlimited. The library was open to anyone who wanted to use it and it was never overcrowded. We never had too many students in a classroom, which made it a lot easier to stay focused and get help from the teacher if needed. And if we needed help, there were always other professors that would be glad to help you if asked.
Social Life10Almost everyone participated in the school events, whether it was giving away presents for Christmas, collecting canned goods for the less fortunate, or just throwing a thank you party for the students and staff. It's always a fun time at Everest College.
Placement Services7My experience with the career services assistance was not so good. They gave me the run around and did not tend to my needs when it came to transportation to and from the job site where they were trying to place me. They wanted to place me at a job that was 50 miles away from my house after I told them specifically it can be no more than 20 miles form my house due to gas prices.
Alumni Network10The alumni network and support is amazing. Whenever you have a problem or you need help, they are there for you. They lend out a helping hand to whoever needs it.

"Were it not for the prohibitive cost and the lack of nationally accepted accreditation, I would be much more satisfied. The program itself, as well as the staff, were wonderful."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

Would Recommend?maybeI would recommend this school to anyone who wants only the career being taught. If they intend to move on to a higher degree, I would recommend they take the extra time to receive their education at a traditional college -- it's less costly, and the credits are more useful.
School Reputation7For the most part, employers are indifferent. However, there have been some who are unimpressed with Everest as a whole.
Satisfaction With Major7Overall, my experience was good. My teachers were knowledgeable and helpful, the program was extensive, and I enjoyed the lessons. However, the cost was a lot higher than similar programs at other schools, and credits aren't transferable to other degrees.
Instruction7Most of my instructors were excellent: well versed, and extremely helpful. There were some, however, that were disseminating incorrect information, which sometimes made it difficult to keep track of what was right and what was not.
Cost4Although a good and very thorough program, it was incredibly expensive. I could have received the same education at a community college for less than half the cost of Everest, and credits would have been transferable to another degree program.
Schedule Flexibility9They have many options available to accommodate a person's lifestyle. Options range from part time weekend classes to full time weekday programs in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
Academic Facilities9We had multitudes of resources available to us, from a full library to up to date computer systems and software. Most important, our medical equipment matched what would be found in the workplace.
Social Life6The social aspect wasn't incredibly important in this environment. However, we did occasionally have small celebrations at mod completion and for awards ceremonies.
Placement Services9They will put the same effort into your future career as you do. So long as you're willing to work toward your goal, they are happy to match your enthusiasm to help with all aspects of the hiring process.
Alumni Network9They have continued to be an excellent resource. They're friendly and courteous and will always take the time to answer questions.

"I did not appreciate how little my instructor knew. I felt for the amount of money I was paying for my education I deserved to have a teacher who didn't just read out of the book."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeI would say it would depend on what they were going for and the teacher/instructor they would have. If they were pursuing something such as nursing I would recommend they go to a bigger college.
School Reputation3I remember my externship adviser saying that Everest students have a bad reputation. I think this is because some people don't take the externship seriously and employers like to see that their employees went to a big name school.
Satisfaction With Major3I feel like they basically just taught me how to be a secretary. I felt like I could have learned everything just by being trained on the job.
Instruction3My teacher did not know what she was doing, which made it hard to learn. She would consult her book and consult other teachers all the time.
Cost1I paid, I think, somewhere in between $16,000 - $18,000 for an eight month program. At a college I would probably end up only paying half that for a year.
Schedule Flexibility5I could take night classes or day classes. The only thing I didn't like was that if school was cancelled because of weather you would have to come in on the weekend to make up the class.
Academic Facilities5They occasionally had a computer lab you could go to if you needed to finish something. Students had to organize their own study groups. I never used a tutor or the library.
Social Life2There weren't really that many social experiences at school. I think pretty much the only thing they really had was you could dress up for Halloween.
Placement Services5My placement adviser sends me tons of emails with job openings. These emails, however, contain job openings I could find on craigslist by myself.
Alumni Network5I'm constantly getting emails from my student adviser with job openings. They try to contact you every couple of weeks.

Would Recommend?yesIt's a good way to get used to the field. They teach you enough to succeed.
School Reputation4I have been told multiple times that I perform 'well for an Everest student.' I also was told by my employer that the rumor was that "Everest passes everyone whose check clears."
Satisfaction With Major8I felt that my department did quite well teaching me. The teacher was very useful and helpful at all times.
Instruction8The teachers were very helpful and had a lot of real-world knowledge. They always seemed to be able to tell us of the actual applications for various activities.
Cost4I paid $15,000 and change to go to the school, and I feel it was fairly well spent. I only have an issue with the career services.
Schedule Flexibility5They were able to work with my schedule. I found the school to be very accommodating.
Academic Facilities5The lab materials were quite good. Beyond that, there were nice computer labs.
Social Life5We all got along well enough. There were no real socializing activities, but we all talked in class.
Placement Services1I had to find my own externship. I also had to find a job by myself, and did not receive any job leads until I had been working for a week - four months after graduation.
Alumni NetworkI haven't had any alumni contact. Since graduation, I have barely ever heard from my school.

Would Recommend?yesTheir education system is amazing and has helped me, and it can help you too!
School Reputation5Most employers prefer university gradates.
Satisfaction With Major9A lot of job opportunities opened up to me and I stopped feeling overwhelmed about getting a job.
Instruction10Counselors and teachers prepared me in every way possible.
Cost8It was more expensive than I would have hoped for, but still rather cheap.
Schedule Flexibility8I was able to go to school full time while supporting my boyfriend and small son.
Academic Facilities8The library was big and was very lenient with the return policies.
Social Life8A lot of people were in my same situation and that made it easier for me to get along and make friends.
Placement Services6The school at least gives you a push to get you on your feet to find jobs. Mostly I spent time at the library accessing the free computer services to get hired.
Alumni Network9A lot of alumni meetings and group activities have helped me stay close with the people that I have met.

Would Recommend?maybeI would maybe recommend this school to someone pursing my career field, but it would depend on their circumstances and how serious they were. I would recommend it to someone who is trying to pursue a career they already have knowledge in and are trying to get more experience or catch up on their studies in that particular field.
School Reputation4This school has a lot of programs to choose from. I do not like how they don't really work with you after you graduate from your particular program. They do not help as much as they say when you first sign up with them.
Satisfaction With Major5I enjoyed the ability to complete my courses whenever I was able to, since I am a single parent of 2 young children. I did not like how they made me feel as if I was just another number to fulfill their commission checks for that month.
Instruction5This program gives you the general education needed for the criminal justice field. They do not give enough resources for you to get your own job at the end.
Cost2It simply was too expensive for the course of study I enrolled in considering the pay of governmental jobs I was trying to pursue in this field.
Schedule Flexibility10I took classroom studies, which at first was really not working for my schedule. I then started taking online courses and this was the best option for me because this gave me the ability to be a full time mother, work, and be a full time student. I was able to do school work after putting my children to bed at night.
Academic Facilities8
Social Life3This is a vocational educational experience for those trying to get a degree or certificate in the field of study they are trying to pursue without having to get those general college studies out of the way. There were really no social events for us as far as I remember. I was an online student for the most part.
Placement Services3They give you a list of places hiring, but they do no help you with your resumes, etc. They automatically assume you will be able to do this on your own, which this is why I have taken a different turn in my career.
Alumni Network5I like the ability to contact my classmates through the internet. I enjoyed being able to contact them through our classroom discussion forum in the online classroom also.

Academic Facilities10They had an online library. It was very helpful when doing research.

Would Recommend?yesI loved getting up and going. I also learned that learning can be fun thanks to my instructors.
School Reputation10Every time I go to the dentist office my dentist is raving about how well Everest has taught their students and that the dental assistants he has hired are so punctual.
Satisfaction With Major9The enrollment process was easy to understand. Also, the staff and instructors cared about me as a person and about my education.
Instruction9I had extra one on one time with my instructor when necessary. My instructor would demonstrate as well as instruct during lectures and in the lab.
Cost3The loans cost me a arm and a leg and they wouldn't cover everything. I had to pay out of pocket
Schedule Flexibility10The school works around my schedule and the instructors are very understanding.
Academic Facilities5The library should have had more resources. The laboratories should have had more space to move around in.
Social Life10No one judged me because of my learning disability and I met my best friend there.
Placement ServicesI can't answer this question because I did not finish.

"I was very satisfied. I just wish the coding part was not so hard for me. I had a 4.0 before those classes."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI think that anyone who wants to get into this field and wants to further their education should go for it. It is a great way to earn your degree or certificate if you need a flexible education.
School Reputation7I have spoken with a few places that offer employment in that field and as long as you have completed the program and pass the state testing, then you can get your foot in the door. Some employers want you to have some experience as well.
Satisfaction With Major8I enjoyed the format and passed all classes, except for when I got to the coding portion. It wasn't easy and I felt like I would do better if I had an instructor, so I will continue at a later time at a local technical college.
Instruction7Again, I liked the delivery of information and it was easy to learn. But I needed more one on one instruction in person for the coding portion.
Cost8It was great since they had financial aid options for those that really needed the assistance.
Schedule Flexibility8Most classes you could do at your own pace. I liked that we could do that, but sometimes I got off track.
Academic Facilities8They were great for offering tutoring. Some tutoring was automated and some was instructor-led.
Social Life8Since we were doing school work online, we did not have access to the school itself. But they did offer chat rooms and tutoring among the students for certain classes.
Placement Services8I wish I could have taken advantage of it, but the career center really helped with resume and cover letter items. They offered workshops for learning how to interview better as well.
Alumni Network10They had a network set up to help with job placement. Also, they provided help with continuing your education. I just wish I could have taken advantage of it.

School Reputation9Have not heard too much as far as the reputation goes, but the few things I have heard seem to be positive.
Satisfaction With Major9Very pleased with every aspect of the school thus far. I was looking for a strictly online school and they were just that. I did all the paperwork and applications, etc online and was registered and enrolled in less than a week, and classes started within 2 weeks of my first phone conversation. Instructors were very helpful and always available.
Instruction9Am currently attending and so far the instructors have been excellent. They have been very helpful and always available to help or answer any questions.
Cost10I received financial aid for most of my courses, but the rest was from loans, and so far I have had no issues with any of the process.
Schedule Flexibility10I am enrolled in the online classes and they are very flexible. You have a set of things you must complete each week in order to be considered active and present and it's very easy to follow and know what is expected of you.
Academic Facilities10Everyone I have spoken with has had the answers to any questions or concerns I have had. Enrollment was very easy and a lot quicker than I would have thought.
Social Life9No social experience, however the online classes are very social. You have the opportunity to speak with other students from around the US.
Placement Services9Excellent assistance for job seekers. A helpline is available for job services.
Alumni Network8Have not really had much experience with them. Have spoken with a few former students and they all are doing well with the careers they have chosen.
