"I am very satisfied with my school."

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would definitely recommend Everest to others pursuing Accounting or any other field because it is a great school. It helps you get to where you need to go in life.
Satisfaction With Major8I am very satisfied with my school's program. It gives me a solid knowledge of accounting practices.
Instruction8The quality of instruction is very good. I feel as if Im going to go far in this career. Everest has taught me a lot.
Cost5The cost of the school is not a concern.
Schedule Flexibility10The school's class schedule is very flexible. They work around your schedule to make it convenient for you.
Academic Facilities5The professors have fair accessibility, but I would not know about the classroom space because I take an online program.
Social Life2I have school spirit but I can not get into parties or athletic programs because it's an online program.
Placement Services5I'm not sure because I have not been placed for a job yet, but I would think that it's average.
Alumni Network1I would not know about the alumni because I take an online program.

Studying Associates In Science With A Concentration In Accounting (completion in: 2013)

8/28/2011

"I am very satisfied overall with the school. It does have a few things it needs to work on, but nothing major."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend the accounting program to others. I would also suggest they try to interact with the teachers.
Satisfaction With Major8Some of the teachers need to work on their attitudes and they way they come off. The counselors and others that help with the sign up process are great.
Instruction9Some of the teachers need to interact more in the discussions. They also need to let you know when your work is wrong so you know how to fix it.
Cost5They changed the prices after I signed up.
Schedule Flexibility10The ability to work on things when I have the chance to is great. I have a 1 year old daughter so it is great to be flexible.
Social Life5The interaction is ok in the classrooms. I do not live close enough to a campus to be able to visit.

Studying Paralegal (Bachelor's) (completion in: 2011)

9/11/2011

"I learned what I needed to know. I could not have been any more pleased with this school than I already am. It was a great experience."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesI would recommend this to anyone trying to start a career in this field.
Satisfaction With Major7It was a great learning experience, although I did not feel as engaged as I would have if I was in an actual university from what I've heard from my friends who went to one.
Instruction6They taught me the information in the most basic form. I had to go online and look up the rest to go more in depth.
Cost10I learned what I needed to learn for a reasonable price. Asking for anything cheaper would make me a miser.
Schedule Flexibility8It's an online school so it was really as flexible as I needed it to be. I got to choose when I wanted to do my classes.
Academic Facilities2I went to school online so I didn't use the facilities. I personally don't even know if they have any.
Social Life2I took online classes so I did not know of parties and such. There wasn't really a campus so there could not have been parties, I guess.
Placement Services7They taught me what I needed to know and placed me where I needed to be. There is not much more to it than that.
Alumni Network3There's not really an alumni support network for the online school. I believe my wife told me about a reunion, but I really don't pay attention to that sort of thing.

Studying Paralegal (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

8/29/2011

"It may have been the fact that the classes were online, but it wasn't worth it. With a teacher there it may have been better. They may have been able to support every individual need, which was not possible online."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI would recommend people go to any other school. I did not have the best online experience, but I may be biased because my classes were online.
Satisfaction With Major1Well, in taking my courses, nothing seemed challenging at all. I completed three courses without even opening a book. It felt like I was being taught what I already knew.
Instruction3While I was not happy with the way things were taught the material that was taught was alright. They used real case material and were very good at using real life situations to explain the cases.
Cost2The actual learning experience was lackluster and poor and I would prefer not to have paid anything for what I learned - nothing. I am still paying for it and overall I was disappointed.
Schedule Flexibility10As an online student, I could go to class whenever I had time available. As a new mother, my free time was impossible to pin down, but I could attend class at noon or at two AM if I had to, which was nice.
Academic Facilities9Even though they didn't have many classrooms, they had many resources for paralegals. They had a paralegal library which was huge and some of the teachers had careers as lawyers or judges which made them very helpful.
Social Life3I wasn't in the actual building very often so, it was rare for me to run into other students or hear about any events at the school. The orientation that I went to was a lot of fun, so I imagine the other events would have been as well.
Placement Services6The career services department had lots of career opportunities available not only to graduates but also to students. Also, they had contact information for several firms where we could submit our resumes.
Alumni Network8The people that were there to help were great. I was contacted several times to make sure that I was able to handle and understand everything. There was also a peer tutor program that was available for anyone that wanted help.

Studying Computer Information Science (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

10/19/2011

"I like going to school online. It provides a degree but with flexibility. I hope to transfer at some point."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI think that real colleges are more respectable. That is why I will transfer at some point. It is good for starting out, though.
Satisfaction With Major5It's okay. It's an online school though so it will never really compare to a real college.
Instruction5It's decent. I could find help on internet forums, though.
Cost5The cost is average. I could find the same level of information for free on the net, but the school provides a degree.
Schedule Flexibility10The flexibility is why I chose this school. Online courses are completed at your own discretion.
Academic Facilities5There is good information. The information can be found for free elsewhere, though.
Social Life1I have never met anyone on a social level through my school. This is because it's online.
Placement Services5I don't know yet. I haven't tried getting a job yet, but I understand it's decent.
Alumni Network1It's online. I have never met my peers.

Studying Business Administration (completion in: 2012)

10/18/2011

"My classes are fairly simple and it's easy to keep an A- average. The Instructors are helpful when it comes to getting my assignments in on time and done right."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIt's faster to get your degree in an online or vocational college. They have online classes to accommodate stay at home moms and those who have jobs during the day. It's a school with flexibility.
Satisfaction With Major9Everest has great instructors teaching my Business Administration courses. And by having a Business Administration degree, I can have just about any mid level job/career of my choice.
Instruction9My Instructors are very helpful when I need assistance with my assignments and they are very flexible when it comes to scheduling appointments to speak with me or help me with any questions or concerns I have.
Cost4I believe it is as expensive as any other college, online or campus based. College itself is expensive, especially when you have to take out loans.
Schedule Flexibility10I take my classes online so my class flexibility is awesome. I can work morning, noon, or night at any time I would like. I just have to be sure to turn my assignments in by midnight on Saturdays.
Academic Facilities5We have different kinds of ways to obtain resources for assignments and papers for students who attend online. We have a virtual classroom and library online, and we have tutors who are available when you make an appointment.
Social Life2Everest University Online doesn't have social clubs or functions to attend. It is located in a different state than where I live.
Placement Services6I haven't gotten to that step yet, however I do know a few Everest graduates that have found careers in their fields with the help of their Career Service Assistance.
Alumni NetworkI just started at Everest University a month ago, so I'm not very sure about their Alumni Network or Support.

Studying Medical Billing And Coding (completion in: 2011)

10/7/2011

"It was hard to reach the financial office. I never knew what was going on with my account. I couldn't find info on refunds. Additionally, classes were way too easy."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI don't feel it is the best school. It is not nationally accredited so many places won't accept transfer credits.
Satisfaction With Major5The classes were spread out in a way that didn't seem logical to me. There were some classes I feel were thrown in there just to fill in space. I believe the school is way too expensive for this particular program as there is no real challenge and there are classes that do not pertain to the field at all.
Instruction5Didn't really have too much correspondence with the instructors, however we were provided the instructors' information in case we had any questions.
Cost1Way too expensive. I was forced to take out a student loan to attend the school and still was unable to receive any refunds back.
Schedule Flexibility10I was taking online classes. Online classes were available 24 hours a day, so I was able to login anytime of the day to do my classwork.
Academic Facilities5We were given enough resources to be able to complete all assignments. There were tutors and tutorials, as well as links to other helpful resources.
Social Life3I was taking online classes so I did not get to socialize too much with other students. I'm sure there were options for us to be able to get to know other students better, however I decided not to act on those opportunities.
Placement Services4I was told that once I completed the program I would have job placement assistance. I haven't completed and most places don't have good things to say about Everest.
Alumni Network1Didn't really know or hear too much about their alumni to have any support.

Studying Medical Billing And Coding (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

10/17/2011

"I did not like anything about this school. They are only out to get your money."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI don't think they help out students like they should. They only seem to want to get you in the school and then don't care if you graduate.
Satisfaction With Major1I did not like the lack of communication. I did not like that they were not nationally accredited.
Instruction3It took two days to get a question answered. The information seemed out dated.
Cost1My financial aid hardly covered the costs of classes. They were more expensive than the University of Phoenix.
Schedule Flexibility6Tests and work had to be turned in too soon. They did give extra time if needed.
Academic Facilities2We had study groups, but no one attended. The online library was not user friendly.
Social Life2Classmates did not respond to questions. We did not have any social events.
Placement ServicesI heard they had assistance, but I do not personally know. I did not like the major I chose after talking to the counselor.
Alumni Network3I do not know anyone who has graduated from there. I did not feel I would last long enough to graduate.

Studying Business (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

10/10/2011

"I had no complaints."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThey were a good school and took care of their students. The cost was just a little high.
Satisfaction With Major9I was very satisfied with Everest when I went - the only thing that I didn't like was the cost.
Instruction9I learned quite a bit from Everest when I attended.
Cost1It was really expensive.
Schedule Flexibility10They were flexible with their online classes.
Academic Facilities10The academic advising was excellent. Advisors were very helpful.
Social LifeI went online only so I didn't experience any social events.
Placement ServicesI do not know what they have for job placement because I was only there about a year.

Studying Accounting (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

11/3/2011

"It seemed more like a chore and was not enjoyable at all. I always liked school until I enrolled there."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noThe classroom interface is horrible, the teachers are horrible, and the assignments are horrible. They really need to step up to this century.
Satisfaction With Major1I did online classes so I did not have to do "group" projects, because that is juvenile to me. However, all the classes made you do group assignments and only half of the team would participate.
Instruction1All that seems to happen is a simple copy/paste. The instructors all have the same curriculum and it gets boring.
Cost1Too expensive for a whole lot of work. Students are required to complete an absurd amount of work and the teachers just copy/paste.
Schedule Flexibility10You can work at your own time. However, you do need to submit things each week.
Academic Facilities5They did give links to resources and information. I could just use Google a lot better, though.
Social Life1It is an online school. There are no activities to be done.
Placement Services1It's hard to get career placement when the school is a thousand miles away. I didn't finish so I am not even sure how it works.
Alumni Network1Never had anything to do with the alumni. I'm not even sure there is an alumni network for online schools.

Studying Criminal Justice - Associate's Degree (completion in: I didn't complete my degree)

11/8/2011

"As I've stated previously, for the money, it was a fine experience and education. I'm glad that I got the degree through this school because it was convenient and not too pricey."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIf others have the time and resources, I would recommend attending a college that has a regular campus. However, for people who need to stay employed full-time and don't have a ton of money to spend on their education, this is a fine program for Criminal Justice. It works with your lifestyle and you still get the leg up next time you apply for a job.
Satisfaction With Major7I am pretty happy with the quality of my education. I feel as though I was relatively prepared for the job-market afterwards.
Instruction7I learned a lot about the field. The information I learned in classes was relevant and useful for future jobs.
Cost5For the education I got, it was fine. The price was reasonable considering it was online and that I got a decent degree.
Schedule Flexibility5Class flexibility was fine. Of course I had some scheduling conflicts, but I expected it to be that way. Scheduling can't be perfect.
Academic Facilities2I took my classes online, so there was little room for tangible resources. My professors were available for help via email though, which was nice.
Social Life1I really did not have much contact with other students. As an online program, there were not really any parties and I didn't attend any University events.
Placement Services4They did not provide much assistance for me trying to find a job. I mostly used my own skills and time to find a job.
Alumni Network2I don't really stay in touch with the school. I also don't know of many people who do stay in touch or donate to the school.
