About Florida Career Institute

Florida Career Institute provides career-focused diploma programs in medical fields, computer technology and business. The programs provide small class sizes. According to the school, their associations with businesses, government agencies and individuals assists them in providing quality education programs. Hands-on learning is emphasized in the curriculums.

Florida Career Institute Academic Programs

  • Medical Insurance Coding Specialist – The curriculum emphasizes training in medical administration, medical insurance and coding, computerized billing & collection and claims processing. Also, experience is gained through a medical office externship.
  • Medical Assistant – Offers a solid foundation in claims processing, record-keeping and computerized billing. The program also includes medical terminology and pharmacology. The curriculum provides students with an externship at a medical office.
  • Computer Applications – Provides an essential foundation in software applications. The program also trains students in database management, web design, spreadsheet applications and desktop publishing. Students are prepared for industry-standard certification tests.
  • Accounting Applications – Offers the theories, principles and procedures of accounting. Students are also trained to prepare financial reports, organize and maintain business and financial records.
  • Patient Care Technician – Offers a broad understanding of the healthcare delivery system. The curriculum also provides training in patient care, emergency medicine and clinical procedures. Hands-on training is provided through an externship.
