About Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences Online

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) is a Seventh-day Adventist institution dedicated to allied health and nursing education. Located in Orlando, Florida, FHCHS works closely with Florida Hospital, a recognized medical center, to provide educational programs with clinical experience. In addition to its campus based programs, FHCHS offers three online bachelor's degree completion programs. These distance learning programs are geared toward the working professional, offering the convenience and flexibility of studying around existing work and life commitments. Online students earn the same degree as traditional campus students, with programs being completed in approximately two years.

Academic Programs

Examples of programs offered by Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences Online include:

  • RN to Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing - Program designed for active registered nurses or students who have an associate's degree, teaching students the latest in health-related issues. This program is completely online and is designed to be completable in eight semesters and less than three years.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences - Program designed for working imaging technologists who desire professional growth. Students learn skills to help boost earnings potential in a supervisory or advanced role.

Learning Options

Distance learning students at FHCHS can complete the programs in as little as 18 to 24 months, with a maximum allowed program time of five years. Coursework can be completed 24 hours a day, with students spending an average of 15-20 hours per week on studying. Online programs use Angel, a classroom-based program providing a user-friendly environment with e-mail, assignments and lectures, and discussion forums, among others.

Distance learning students benefit from experienced faculty, who are educators as well as practitioners. Faculty at FHCHS are dedicated to helping students succeed in the program and are readily available for assistance.

Student Life

Online students at FHCHS are provided with the same support and services as on-campus students. Due to the flexibility of the program, students can maintain their existing work and family commitments.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Applications to FHCHS are accepted on a rolling basis for Spring, Summer, and Fall trimesters. Program requirements vary, but in general, students should posses a regionally-accredited Associate degree or have a diploma with existing college credit. Minimum GPA and existing licensing requirements may apply.

FHCHS provides affordable tuition, and provides federal financial aid such as grants and educational loans for qualified students. Enrollment Advisors are available to assist students through the application process.
