About the School

Florida Tech University Online is an extension of Florida Institute of Technology, an over 50 year old campus-based school with locations across the eastern US. The institute has been recognized as a top school a number of times, including by: U.S. News & World Report as a "Best National University"; Barron's as a "Best Buy in College Education"; Princeton Review as a "Best University in the Southeast"; and Washington Monthly as the top private university in Florida. Florida Tech University Online programs offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of subjects including business, management, healthcare, criminal justice, and information technology. According to the university, they employ state-of-the-art e-learning virtual classrooms. The online classes use the same curriculum as the on-campus classes. Academic Programs

• Computer Information Systems – Training is provided in programming, network theory and design, database concepts, systems analysis and design, information systems management and other topics. Students have the opportunity to create and operate their own network.
• Criminal Justice – Examines the various components of the criminal justice system. The curriculum reviews applying legal concepts such as due process, use of force, search and seizure and criminal liability. Training in crime analysis is also included.
• Business Administration/Marketing – Reviews basic business and marketing principles. Students analyze and design marketing strategies for international environments. Students also have the opportunity to create and implement an advertising campaign.
• MBA/Specialization in Healthcare – The program utilizes a case method approach to learning. The curriculum includes training in the Essentials of Business Development 1 and 2 and a comprehensive review of healthcare policy and management.
• MBA/Specialization in Management – Offers a case method approach to learning. The program includes the Essentials of Business Development 1 and 2. In addition, students create their own fully integrated business plan. Leadership theory, corporate venturing and operations management are also studied.
• Information Technology – Offers a thorough review of the fundamentals of business applications. The program also includes a broad understanding of product management and systems administration specific to the IT industry. Training in developing information systems as strategic tools is also included.
