About the School
Golden Gate University (GGU) was founded in 1901 in San Francisco. The school offers career-oriented graduate and undergraduate programs in management, accounting, business, taxation, law, information technology, and other areas. The school's programs have been created to present real-world work scenarios and then help students learn how to respond to those situations.
For the San Francisco Bay area GGU is one of the largest educators of business professionals. The school notes that it recently awarded the most graduate business related degrees in the area according to recent government statistics. The school also reports that it has one of the largest taxation schools in the U.S.
Academic Programs

Virtually the entire teaching staff has advanced degrees in the subjects they teach. Over 80% of the teachers are working professionals. GGU's faculty includes or has included Fulbright Scholars and recipients of distinctions such as a Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting award from the Accounting Today publication.

Student Life
The University offers a variety of student activities including: a Student-run newspaper, American Marketing Association meetings, a variety of ethnic Student Associations, the Computing Society and more.
GGU is a commuter school; on-campus housing is not available.
Personal and Psychological counseling is available for students.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Admission eligibility is based on an evaluation of an applicant's educational and professional experience. GGU's Admissions Office considers academic records, test scores, personal statement, professional resumes, letters of recommendation and personal interviews. With fall, spring and summer programs, admission deadlines vary by semester.
Financial assistance is available for eligible students and the school helps them apply for the assistance. Aid may come in the form of: Federal Financial Aid, State Grants, GGU Scholarships, Private loans, Employer Tuition Assistance or an Installment Payment Plan.
