Henley-Putnam University is an online university dedicated to educating professionals in the fields of intelligence, counter-terrorism, and security. Originally founded in 2001 as the California University of Protection and Intelligence Management, the mission of Henley-Putnam is to serve the strategic security industry by delivering quality online programs to educate professionals in deterrence and protection. Henley-Putnam offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Counter terrorism, Intelligence, and Protection, as well as several certificate programs and a doctoral degree in Strategic Security. All programs are offered entirely online, with no travel to the school required.

Learning Options

Online programs at Henley-Putnam are offered year-round, with classes beginning on the 1st day of every month, with the doctoral program starting quarterly. Classes run for ten weeks, with students generally taking two classes per quarter. The eClassroom is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with students accessing assignments, syllabus, learning materials and other class items. Classes are interactive, with students in contact with instructors and each other via e-mail, telephone, and online group forums.

The faculty at Henley-Putnam are highly qualified and considered experts in their fields with over 1,300 years of cumulative field experience, which equates to each instructor having more than 22 years of experience. Over 80% of faculty holds advanced degrees from schools such as Berkeley, Georgetown, Stanford, Yale, and Cambridge.

Admissions and Financial Aid

All interested applicants to Henley-Putnam must undergo a background check and screening process. In place of a background check, active military and law enforcement can include a letter of good standing. Undergraduate programs require a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and have an Associate of Art or Science degree, or have completed sufficient units of college level credit. Graduate applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with other multiple criteria evaluated as well. Applicants for the doctoral program have additional requirements.

Henley-Putnam does not offer financial aid, although programs are eligible for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, monthly payment plans are available to assist with costs.
