About the School
Herzing University was one of the first post-secondary career institutions founded to train students for the computer industry. The university now offers undergraduate and graduate educational programs in health care, business, technology, public safety, and design. Many programs include opportunities for industry certification, such as Microsoft MCSE and/or MCSA, Cisco CCNA, i-Net+, A+, Network+.
Academic Programs
The curriculum is career-focused to give students the real-world skills and knowledge required for their career field. Students can earn a graduate and undergraduate degrees as well as diplomas across a range of programs. Terms are eight-weeks long to maintain an accelerated pace.
The school's areas of study include:
- Technology – Students can complete programs in software engineering, technology management, and computer science. Industry certification is an option for students, such as for Microsoft MCSE and MCSA, Network+, Cisco CCNA, A+ and i-Net+.
- Business – Herzing notes that business program graduates are working with employers ranging from non-profit organizations to multinational corporations. Study tracks can include business administration, accounting, legal studies, human resources, bookkeeping, paralegal, and more. The online school offers MBA degrees with concentrations in technology management, health care management, and business management.
- Health Care – Several of the health care programs are designed to ready students for completing industry-recognized certifications. Concentrations can include health information, health care management, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, and medical office administration.
- Design – Studies can cover Computer Aided Design and Drafting, computer games, and web design.
- Public Safety and Security – Studies offered include criminal justice, homeland security, and public safety.
Learning Options
Herzing University Online helps students balance the demands of family, work, and academics through flexibility in how and when their students learn. Students also have the option to study where they want since they can link to the Herzing program while at home, the library, or a hotel, if they're traveling. For each student, the Registrar schedules all courses for the program at one time to help ensure availability. Online library services are available 24/7, with librarians accessible through email during regular business hours.
