About High-Tech Institute

High-Tech Institute (HTI) is a family of schools that provide career-oriented programs in technology, criminal justice, healthcare and visual communication. According to the school, the programs are designed to provide the training and qualifications in demand by employers. Also, the school reports that it uses the latest in equipment, such as medical equipment, as part of coursework to provide realistic workplace training environments. High-Tech Institute also owns Allied College, Bryman School of Arizona, Anthem College and Anthem Institute.

High-Tech Institute Academic Programs

The Institute's program areas include:

  • Healthcare – Covers career path options including: Dental assistant, massage therapy, medical assistant, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technician, surgical technologist, and X-ray technician.
  • Technology – Available programs include: computer aided drafting, networking, security, electronics, and computer science.
  • Visual Communication – HTI's Graphic Design and Animation program is geared towards readying students for work as web designers, web developers, desktop publishers and multimedia developers.
  • Criminal Justice – Studies are designed to prepare students for careers in such areas as juvenile justice, law enforcement, corrections, and judicial administration.

Below is a selection of several of the specific programs available from the above program areas:

  • Medical Assistant – The program offers the basics of medical diagnostic techniques and training in clinical and laboratory procedures. Students are also provided with a solid foundation in medical office paperwork. In addition, CPR certification is included in the program. Students also have the opportunity to gain experience with an externship at a medical facility.
  • Massage Therapy – Provides training in Swedish, deep tissue and sports massage. Reflexology, aromatherapy and spa treatments are also part of the program. The various aspects of operating a massage therapy business are reviewed in detail.
  • Computer Networking and Security – The training includes computer forensic techniques and a basic understanding of Windows, Linux, Internet hardware and popular application servers. Enrollees are also provided the skills to install, repair and troubleshoot computers.
  • Graphic Design and Animation – Enrollees learn to produce images and graphics in Photoshop and utilize Flash to produce Internet presentations. Students are also taught to produce interactive websites and create digital and audio files as well as 3D images.
  • Electronics Technology – Students are trained to install, repair and maintain computers, consumer electronics and office equipment. The program also offers a broad understanding of wireless technology, telecommunications, fiber optics and industrial electronics.
  • Surgical Technologist – Students are trained to assist in surgical procedures, set up operating instruments, equipment and supplies and assist in preparing patients for surgery. The program also includes an externship at a medical facility.

Student Life

The High-Tech Institute Student Services Department provides a variety of assistance, including free tutoring and assisting students find part-time and full-time employment. The school also provides students activities such as sports, special events, picnics and contests.

Students have the opportunity to participate in community service events, such as blood drives and health fairs, that combine the enjoyment of helping others with a chance to apply classroom skills and gain useful career-related experience.
