A part of Jacksonville University, Jacksonville University Online offers an online RN to BSN degree program through the institution's school of nursing. The university also offers "practice projects" including a Community Health Nursing Practice for the Experienced Nurse and the Professional Nursing Synthesis for the Experienced Nurse. Academic Programs

Students are trained to solve problems and weigh legal and ethical dilemmas in critical care. Training is also provided in health promotion, critical care nursing theory, community health nursing practice and leadership and management. The program also reviews integrating complementary/alternative approaches into nursing.

Faculty

The online students are taught by full-time faculty members of the on-campus university and adjunct faculty. The instructors have expertise in their field of teaching. The teachers utilize streaming video lectures in their courses.

Student Life

Students are able to communicate with classmates and instructors via online message boards, email and chat rooms. Jacksonville University Online students are provided with an academic advisor and a University Alliance Online student services representative. Admissions and Financial Aid

Candidates must complete the application packet and send a transcript release form to every school they have attended. The application packet can be faxed or mailed. Candidates for Jacksonville University's online RN to BSN degree program must have graduated from a state-approved associate degree in nursing or diploma nursing program. They must also have an active U.S. registered nurse license.

Federal, state and other types of grants and loans are available to qualified students. The Nursing Education Loan Program assists registered nurses in repaying education loans in exchange for service in critical shortage facilities.
