About the School

Established in 1977, Keiser University is a career-oriented institution providing programs in education, culinary arts, computers and technology, health care, legal studies and business. Keiser offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degrees on-campus and online.

Academic Programs

Keiser's programs encompass a wide range of career options. A sample of these include:

  • Biotechnology - Provides students with the expertise to enter fields such as molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics.
  • Business Administration - The program's objective is to provide leadership skills for managers and people participating in international business and marketing. Study areas include international business, finance, management, marketing and human resources.

Student Notes

Most students are Florida residents. Typically, more than 50 percent of the students are over 25 years of age.

The University's Department of Student Services offers interview coaching, professional development workshops, resume writing assistance and job postings at the online career center. The Department of Academic affairs offers tutoring, academic advising, graduation requirement evaluation and scheduling advice for classes.

Students have access to job placement services. Keiser University is involved with the Federal Works Study program, which provides employment to undergraduate students based on their financial needs.

Keiser University offers a variety of student organizations, including the Student's Government Association, Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society and the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. A variety of social and sports activities are available to students.

Keiser University has over 2,000 faculty and staff members. The school notes that it instructors have workplace experience.

Admissions, Loans, Grants and Scholarships

If results from a SAT or an ACT exam are not available, students must take an entrance exam. Federal loans are available for students who qualify. The school also offers Florida Post-secondary Student Assistance Grants and a Keiser University Need-Based Scholarship. The school participates in the Military Reimbursement Program.
