About Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University

The Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University was established in 1973 as the CBA Institute. CBA began by offering a certificate program that later became a model for "Executive MBA" programs that emerged in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1987 the school consolidated with DeVry Institute of Technology and in 2002 the two institutions merged to become DeVry University.

Keller currently provides over 30 master's programs in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Project Management and Technology Management. Keller's master's degree programs include a core set of management classes. The school also offers a variety of graduate certificate curriculums.

According to the institute, the course work is designed to meet the professional needs and interests of the students. The school describes its curriculum as practitioner-based that is taught by working professionals and is designed to reflect the most current business trends and practices.

Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University Academic Programs

The School's areas of study include:

  • Business Administration – Provides a strong foundation in advanced managerial concepts. The master's degree includes a variety of core classes and elective courses. The program also offers numerous concentrations including accounting, electronic commerce, general management, health services, human resources, International business, marketing, and more.
  • Public Administration – Includes a comprehensive review of the fundamentals of public administration. The curriculum offers concentrations in government, non-profit and healthcare management. The program provides a real-world combination of theory and applications.
  • Project Management – Provides training in managing quality, advanced project management, project management systems and project risk management. The curriculum also offers a solid foundation in project cost and schedule control and contract and procurement management. The program has been given accreditation by the Project Management Institute's Global Accreditation Center.
  • Accounting and Finance – Includes courses in managerial accounting, federal taxes and management decisions and intermediate accounting I, II and III. Managerial use and analysis is also included. Students choose an emphasis from the subjects of certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and chartered financial analyst.
  • Technology Management – Offers concentrations in the subjects of wireless, project management, security, electronics commerce, network applications, and technology applications. One of the goals is to train students to become skilled and effective leaders in any area of network and communications management. The Information Systems Management studies include a comprehensive review of systems analysis planning and control, networking concepts and allocations as well as database concepts and principles of information security and privacy.
  • Human Resources – Offers a broad understanding in human resources and technology, labor relations, training and development, employment law, strategic staffing, managing organizational changes and other pertinent topics.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students must show proof of having an undergraduate degree. The admissions process includes an on-campus interview or an interview by telephone. The school does not require candidates to take the GMAT or GRE exams if they have at least a 2.7 grade point average based on a 4.00 scale and have achieved a B or higher in college algebra and English composition. For those that require testing, the GMAT or GRE test or the school's alternative test will suffice. Regarding school costs, Keller assists students in acquiring financial aid such as federal, Stafford and Graduate Plus loans.
