About Lamar University Online

Lamar University is a public university serving more than 14,000 students with an extensive offering of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs. A member of the Texas State University System, Lamar University was founded in 1923 in Beaumont, Texas. In addition to campus programs, Lamar began expanding online course offerings in 1998, and currently offers students online bachelor's degree completion programs, as well as master's degree programs. Online programs are geared toward adult learners desiring flexible educational options, with students utilizing the internet for course content and interacting with instructors and students. All online coursework is delivered asynchronously, allowing students the ability to complete coursework at their own convenience.
