About the School

The school teaches students topics from basic cooking and pastry skills to purchasing and cost control giving them the skills necessary to enter the food service industry. In 2007 the school formed a partnership with Le Cordon Bleu International in Paris. The affiliation is aimed at ensuring that students are exposed to the cross-cultural spirit and international culinary techniques that foster career success for graduates.

The curriculum is designed to give students a blend of both European and North American culinary traditions, methods, while using modern technology.

Students get the foundation for professional opportunities and career success in the international hospitality industry. The classic and modern culinary arts training is individualized and hands-on.

Graduates receive the worldwide recognized Le Cordon Bleu Diplôme.

Academic Programs

  • Applied Science Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts – Teaches the theoretical and technical skills students need for entry- to mid- career level positions in the food service industry. Students garner real-world skills by working in the onsite student-run restaurant.

Program courses include culinary theory, classical French cooking, nutrition, menu development, international cuisine, baking and pastry, food preparation, food safety, and management.

Learning Options

  • The campus houses a student-run onsite restaurant where students experience both front- and back-of-the-house operations. Training also takes place in classrooms kitchens and a computer labs library.
  • General education coursework teaches critical thinking skills to help ensure that graduates thrive in the workplace.

Faculty

Professional chef instructors provide hands-on training in modern classrooms and state-of-the-art labs. The arrangement is designed to encourage one-to-one communication between students and instructors. Educator goals are to provide students with personalized attention and professional expertise while upholding the highest standards of service. The instructors pride themselves on cultivating an environment that encourages creativity.

Student Life

Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts Dallas does not provide on-campus housing but the school does help students find housing in and around Dallas.

The online student portal permits students to view school activities, grades, class schedules and more. The school library offers books, magazines, newspapers, videos of faculty demonstrations and lectures, CD-ROMs, and other reference materials to augment the curriculum.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. Admission can be completed and submitted online.

Financial aid is available for applicants who qualify. With the help of the Financial Aid staff the evaluation process starts with the submission of an application and continues through graduation.
