About the School
Lincoln College of Technology was originally established as Lincoln Technical Institute in 1946. The campuses, located throughout the nation, offer bachelor's and associate degrees and diplomas in the fields of cultural arts, business and IT, automotive, health sciences, spa and cosmetology and skilled trades. The school emphasizes technical training for adults. The programs available may vary by location.
Academic Programs
The college offers a variety of program areas. Several of these include:
- Medical Assisting – A comprehensive review of the administrative and healthcare delivery aspects of medical assisting is provided. Enrollees are trained to use medical equipment and perform lab procedures. The "Doctors Office Classroom" resembles an actual medical office.
- Electronic Systems Technician – Students are provided skills in the various aspects of residential and commercial electronic systems, including audio/video, fiber optics and security. Passive circuits, microcomputers and other topics are included. Hands-on learning is provided by lab projects and the school's "Smart House," where students work with live electronic systems.
- Automotive – The curriculum offers automotive theories regarding auto and diesel systems. Training with brakes, suspension, engines and drive trains is included. Students are prepared to achieve the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. Service operations and management training is also available.
- Cosmetology – Enrollees are trained in various hairdressing and cosmetology procedures. A comprehensive review of business and salon management skills is also provided.
- Business Administration – Offers a blend of business and computer skills. Sales, communications, human resources and the law are examined.
- Network – Provides training in installing and servicing computer systems, which includes websites and networks. The curriculum also examines network infrastructure, network security, remote access and other topics.
