About McCann School of Business and Technology
McCann School of Business and Technology has been offering educational programs since 1897. The wide range of curriculums offered include subjects such as computer science and programming, surgical technology, accounting, early childhood education, marketing and management, massage therapy and network administration. Practical training is a large part of the programs.
McCann School of Business and Technology Academic Programs
Programs are provided in a variety of subject areas. Several of these include:
- Accounting Offers a solid foundation in the accounting procedures utilized in governmental agencies and service and manufacturing industries. Training in operating computerized accounting systems is included. The aspects of corporate taxation, auditing and personal employee taxation are thoroughly reviewed.
- Computer Science and Programming Hands-on learning is provided in software applications, online data and information, computer networking and computer programming.
- Criminal Justice Students are prepared for employment in areas such as security, corrections and law enforcement. The program offers students a thorough review of court systems.
- Marketing and Management Enrollees learn the basics of marketing and business management. Advanced communication skills, economics and finance are also taught.
- Network Administration Hands-on training with popular software is provided. Enrollees learn how to work with a company's online business resources. Students are prepared to take certification examinations that are offered in the field of systems administration.
- Surgical Technologist Provides training for students seeking an entry-level position in an operating room team. Coursework is provided in subjects such as anatomy, pharmacology, professional ethics, microbiology, physiology and medical terminology. Graduates of the program may look for employment as a circulating surgical technologist, scrub surgical technologist and as a second assisting technologist.

Student Life
The Career Placement Services department assists students find full-time and part-time employment. Graduates are offered job placement assistance throughout their careers as well as free career refresher classes. All the campuses offer a library, computer labs and a student lounge.
Admissions and Financial Aid
An admissions representative interviews each applicant before a decision is made if an application should be submitted. A high school diploma or a GED certificate is required. Applicants applying while still in high school must provide a high school transcript. Regarding funding, Federal and state financial aid are available for those who qualify. In addition, the school offers Presidential scholarships. Children of the school alumni receive a discounted price for their education. Also, veterans and their families are eligible for educational benefits.
