About the School

Missouri Tech offers undergraduate degrees and diplomas in technical fields such as networking, software, information technology (IT), electronics, and engineering management. The school's history goes back to 1932 when Professor Charles J. Schwarz founded Missouri Tech for teaching what was then the new field of radio technology. The school has progressed its studies to include technology advances such as television in the 1940s and computing in the 1980s.

All of Missouri Tech's degree programs provide a core curriculum which includes computer training. The courses include plenty of hands-on training. Problem solving skills are emphasized in the programs. In addition, all the curriculums have been designed by engineers.

Academic Programs

Missouri Tech's program areas include:

  • Network Administration Security – The curriculum includes courses in wireless security, routers, database administration and various aspects of systems security. Hands-on learning is emphasized.
  • Information Technology – Practical training and applying theory to information technology issues are major parts of the programs. Courses are provided in web applications, systems analysis, graphical use interface design and computer languages.
  • Software Engineering – The programs are geared towards preparing graduates for opportunities in fields such as programmer-analyst, project manager, data systems, the Internet, manufacturing, communications, medical and other areas.
  • Electronic Engineering – Graduates of the programs may seek employment in electronics, manufacturing, communications, robotics, biomedical electronics, consumer electronics and other fields.
  • Engineering Management – The program offers the knowledge and skills needed for employment in technological companies. Graduates have opportunities for jobs in areas such as project engineering, manufacturing, industrial, production planning, packaging engineering, safety engineering, and more. Enrollees may also seek employment in operations management, cost control and sales engineering.
  • Electronic Service Technician – This program is designed to ready students for entry-level technician positions in areas such as: computer maintenance, communications, consumer electronics, and medical electronics.
