About the School

The Nevada School of Massage Therapy (NSMT) was founded over 20 years ago by experienced body workers with the mission of providing quality massage therapy training programs. As part of the prestigious UCMT Family of Schools, NSMT offers a quality education that students can trust, and exceeds the standards set by national certification and by most state and municipal governments for licensing. NSMT is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

Students desiring careers in massage therapy are attracted to UCMT's high graduate placement rate. UCMT is a subsidiary of Steiner Leisure Limited, a global provider of spa services. NSMT graduates benefit from the numerous job opportunities of being a part of these schools. In the 2008 reporting year, UCMT placed 95% of their eligible graduates.

Academic Programs

NSMT offers a Professional Massage Training Program preparing students to become successful massage therapists. Students are taught the art and science of massage therapy, as well as business practices which prepare students for success in the marketplace. NSMT also includes CPR and first aid training and certification, anatomy and physiology, and pathology as part of their total health care training. This program can be completed in as little as as little as seven months if attending full-time, or 12 months if attending part-time.

A Masters Body worker Program, an advanced program for graduates of the Professional Massage Training Program is also offered by NSMT. For students that want to build on their skill set as a massage therapist, this program increases a student's skills for facilitating health and wellness with clients.

Learning Options

The Professional Massage Training Program offers flexible schedules, with students choosing from part-time or full-time program options. Both programs include extensive hands-on training at student clinics with the public.

Faculty

NSMT was founded by body workers, and is run and taught by experienced massage therapists. The faculty at NSMT is very knowledgeable in all aspects of massage therapy.

Student Life

Nevada School of Massage Therapy is a commuter school and does not offer campus housing. However, through the UCMT Family of Schools, Relocation Specialists are available to help students find a suitable and affordable place to live. The school has well-equipped classrooms including top quality massage tables. Students learn through practical hands-on experience with real clients at public clinics.

Admissions and Financial Aid

MSMT's Financial Aid Department is available to assist students with creating a suitable financial aid and loan package. Since the school is nationally accredited and eligible to participate in Federal Title IV student financial assistance programs, students have many financing options.
