New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS) provides training for students seeking a career as a commercial driver. Students are prepared to acquire a CDL A or B license. The programs emphasize hands-on training and safety training. The curriculum emphasizes backing up trucks and driving on the road. The programs offered include Commercial Driver's License Preparation, Commercial Drivers License, Commercial Heavy Straight Truck Training - Class B and Advance Tractor Trailer Driving. Program availability varies by campus.
Academic Programs
Of particular interest are the two programs described below:
- Commercial Drivers License Program – Offers the skills required to drive a tractor trailer safely on local streets and interstates. Classroom and hands-on-training are provided in CDL general knowledge/combination vehicles, brake systems, straight backing, alley dock backing, state examination, highway/city driving and vehicle inspections. Students are prepared to take the written and road tests for a state commercial drivers license class A examination. The school will be the students sponsor for the state test. Graduates have opportunities for entry-level jobs as a solo tractor trailer driver.
- Commercial Heavy Straight Truck Training - Class B – Students are trained to become a licensed heavy straight truck operator. The classes thoroughly review topics such as CDL general knowledge/combination vehicles, brake system, vehicle inspections, alley dock backing, straight backing, state examination and highway/city driving. The program also includes plenty of hands-on learning which includes road driving and CDL test practice. Graduates are able to take a state's commercial driver license class B test. The school sponsors the graduate's test.

Many of the students are from out-of-state. A very high percentage of the students are male and a large number are over 40 years of age.
