About Northcentral University

Founded in 1996, Northcentral University is an online distance learning university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and technology management, education, and psychology. All programs at Northcentral University are offered completely online, with a personalized teaching model where faculty members mentor learners throughout each course. Programs are self-paced and geared towards adult learners that require maximum flexibility in obtaining a degree. Northcentral University is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Learning Options

Northcentral University has a continuous enrollment process, with courses beginning on the first of the month. Most courses are scheduled for 12-week terms, with some doctoral courses lasting 16 weeks. Courses are asynchronous and self-paced, but learners are expected to regularly enter the course room and be active in their coursework. Faculty members offer help when needed, and students have interaction with each other via online bulletin boards, chat rooms, and e-mail.

Faculty

All of the programs at Northcentral offer a personalized educational approach, with faculty mentors interacting asynchronously with students throughout each course. Faculty mentors act not only as instructors, but as guides and consultants throughout the program. Faculty mentors are highly qualified in their respective fields, and are also trained to teach online.

Student Life

Online programs are flexible and geared toward adult learners, allowing them to continue working throughout the program. Many resources are available to students such as an online library and bookstore, writing center, and learner web portal.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Admissions requirements vary by degree program, but interested applicants should complete an application and send any proof of high school education or official transcripts from prior schools, as well as a current resume. In general, after the admissions process is complete, students can begin the first course within 30 days.

Federal student aid programs are available to students, including Federal Stafford loans, Federal PLUS loans, and Federal Pell Grants. Payment plans are also available to help students with tuition costs.
