About the School

Northwestern College, formerly known as Northwestern Business College, is a private institution of higher education that was founded in 1902 to provide specialized business training to support Chicago's growing business community. Northwestern College provides career-oriented education and offers associate's degrees and certificate programs in the areas of business, healthcare, legal studies, and computer technology. The College's curriculum, combined with a student-centered learning community, helps prepare students for direct entry into a career or to continue their education.

Northwestern College has three campuses serving more than 2,100 students in the greater Chicago area. Northwestern College is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Learning Options

Classes at Northwestern College are flexible, with day, evening, weekend, and online classes available. Students may enroll in one or more classes at a time, and programs can be completed in as little as one to two years. Tutoring assistance and individual mentoring is also provided to students.

Student Life

Northwestern College has three convenient commuter locations in the greater Chicago area: Chicago, Bridgeview, and Naperville. All campuses are state-of-the-art facilities, have wireless networks, and have plenty of parking.

Admissions and Financial Aid

All interested students are assigned a personal admissions representative to assist with the entire admissions process. Northwestern College requires all prospective students to have a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, applicants must pass a placement examination administered on campus. A personal interview with a member of the Admissions Department is also required. Overall, Northwestern College seeks to enroll students who are career-focused and have the ability to achieve academically.

Financial Aid Representatives at Northwestern College assist students with a wide variety of financial aid programs. The college participates in Federal and State financial aid programs, grants and loans. The college also offers students the opportunity to apply for numerous scholarships, and made more than four million dollars in scholarship monies available to students last year.
